I too am doing research with accutane. On the site provided, is that a pill or injection? How many mg's are you taking?

they're all liquid form. i take 10mg off cycle 20mg max on cycle.

studies have shown that these low doses are just as effective as high doses of 80mg but without the horrific side effects. food for thought.

The liquid version is not for injecting, it's for taking it orally and it's taken daily.

20mg is 1cc, 40mg is 2cc, 60mg is 3cc..etc Get the picture?

while 20mg/day is considered to be the "effective" low dose, 10mg may be as effective (unfortunately clinical data is lacking and anecdotal evidence - while promising- is not sufficient to make such a reccomendation (at least not across the board))

when I was in highschool i remember my doc putting me on 40 mg morning and 20 mg at night!!!!!!!!!! Althought this is a totally different situation. My acne then was bad, right now my back and shoulders and a few on my face. After the treatment my skin was flawless. Infact, my brother and sister went on it to and their skin has been flawless since and that was 13 years ago. Bad acne ran im my family. My other sister and brother whom didnt get accutane have big cycst scars. Its sad/

doctors have been moving toward lower doses for longer for quite a while but you still find many docs starting regimen dose at 80mg, which is generally not necessary, helpful and greatly increases sides (both acute and chronic).

there is some preliminary evidence that 10 mg is sufficient for at least some, if not most, persons. though its preliminary and limited, so not ready for wholesale reccomendation of it.

I would say its very dependent on the severity. I mean, if you have someone with very bad acne your preliminary goal should be to eliminate it ASAP to avoid scarring - after all, the scars from acne look almost as bad as the acne itself! I know, because I have scars on my shoulders, they aren't very deep but are noticeable.

However, now that it's mostly gone I can get by on about 20mg/day to prevent the majority of acne - especially the ones that cause scarring. Really the only side effect I've had from steroids too (thus far?).

would probably keep it at 10mg, though sure that you will find many that have run like that
