Acne attack-

I've only been on testosterone replacement therapy (TRT) for 2 weeks.

My face is greasy as hell, and getting a bunch of big zits.

My wife is laughing about it, but I feel kinda odd with grey hair and a face full of pimples.

Should I cut my dose back a little, or just deal with the acne for another 2 weeks and have blood tests done?

give us more details, stats, dose and medication. any blood test to date.

oily skin is normal , switch to a 2% salicylic acid based soup and a face moisturizer with that in it as well. if you use such a product

Get your E2 checked. You don't mention what your testosterone replacement therapy (TRT) dose is, but acne is pretty rare as far as I know while on small doses of test. You might be a heavy responder to aromatase, which might mean a needed Aromatase inhibitor (AI) in your future.

I'm injecting .3ml of test e E3D, which equals out to 187mg per week.

I meant to only use .2ml, but I didn't measure out the dose correctly the first couple of shots, so I figured I'd just go with .3cc for a month and then get my blood work done. My doctor is only interested in my testosterone levels, and wanted me to get another T test and adjust my dose if need be after 2 weeks.

Other than the greasy face, I'm doing great. I'm a little bit embarrassed to post about it though, because I figured someone would tell me it's all in my head, since it takes 6 weeks for the test shots to start working...

I know for a fact, I'm getting a big energy boost, sex drive boost, and a big over all mood improvement.

I quit drinking coffee, and have energy till 11pm, banging the wife every day, and really look forward to my next shot.

Before testosterone shots, I was drinking 2 pots of coffee to stay awake till 3pm, crash out for 3 hours. Wake up to eat dinner, and go back to bed with no bone for wifey.

I just want to make this honeymoon phase last as long as possible :)

your dosing seems ok, are you lean or heavy? that can have an impact on estrogen conversion, you need to keep an eye on itchy nipples or bloating and report that to the doc ASAP, if you are curious enough you can use an independent lab for 50 ish $ and learn all the numbers

Large frame, 5-11 245 lbs. with a lot of belly fat...

I asked My doctor if he could prescribe me an estrogen blocker, but he has no idea about testosterone converting to estrogen...

I can get blood work done cheap and easy a few blocks from my place, but thought I was supposed to be on the same regimen for 30 days before I did lab work.

Whenmy estrogen was up I had a lot of acne. Get your E2 tested. You may need an AI.

I just checked the local pharmacy, and a 1mg pill of arimidex is over $3...

If I lower my testosterone dose, or space out my shots to every 4 or 5 days, could that take care of the problem?

If I do try the arimidex, should I cut the pills up and just take a small chunk after each injection?

If I loose weight, will my estrogen go back down?

You need to check into getting some anastrozole. Also drinking red wine vinegar everyday will help.

I'm 3 weeks in and my skin is oily, which is actually good cuz it was dry as fuck before. My face looks clearer but I'm also taking .5 anastrozole 3x a week

i got serious bad acne bout 7-8 months into testosterone replacement therapy (TRT), i was on 75mg every 3 days. my e was always low without Aromatase inhibitor (AI) maybe cause i would pin twice a week.. i started getting huge nasty cyst pimples all over chest, shoulders, back. tried every cream and antibiotic for months wit no help, finally went on acutane and it stopped new ones from coming out but the redness from all the old ones is still very noticeable and its been over 6 months since i started accutane..

If you haven't pulled the trigger on the pharmacy stuff, liquidex (oral liquid) from Rui (board sponsor) works great and provides a bit of flexibility on dosing. It's also quite a bit cheaper. ;) Increasing the time between shots can actually make your estrogen levels worse due to spikes in testosterone triggering your negative feedback loop to aromatize more from the "excess" testosterone. If you did purchase the adex from the pharmacy (without a script?), cutting them in half and taking them every 2-4 days should be fine. Keep an eye out for sore joints and a limp noodle - that means you're taking too much.

Losing weight has been shown to help decrease estrogen generated by aromatase as we store the enzyme in our fat cells, most notably around the midsection.

I don't think the board sponsor will ship to the Philippines. I might contact them when I get back to America though:)

Thanks for the advice about increasing time between shots. A lot of things to consider when planning a protocol...

I'm gonna have to google accutane.

Thanks for the tip-

Acne with testosterone replacement therapy (TRT) is very commonly due to high DHT. I was on 200mg/wk and had it bad on my back. My E2 was high at first but Aromatase inhibitor (AI) solved that problem but the acne continued. Blood tests proved that was the problem with levels over the max range. Avodart reduced the DHT and solved my problem but I didn't like being on that drug. It wasn't until I dropped test down to 100mg/wk that my problem went away.

Other common problems of high DHT can be hair loss and BPH.

You guys were right-

I had my testosterone and E2 checked, and looking at my results

Testosterone 37 (8.6-29) normal range

Estradiol 90 (7.6-42.6)

I stopped in at the pharmacy and picked up some arimidex

I'm not sure if I should change my test dose since it's too high.

Would I be able to lose weight easier if I leave my test level high for a while?

I guess I should take .5 mg of the arimidex every 3 days?

I would start the adex at lowest dose possible first to see how it effects your E2 then adjust accordingly either by how you feel or by getting more blood work done.
