Al Davis is a complete asshole. Power hungry, control freak. But, like so many people, who made it to the top, fell down, then got so close again, only to have his old, wrinkled SACK, tossed at him in the modern day "SNOW BOWL" against the PATS, he is fighting to either leave ON TOP, or die trying. I guess it might be different from his vantage point, when he spent his whole life building something and isn't going to let anyone tell him when it's his time. There IS something to be said for that type of perseverance, although the gratification he seeks comes at the literal and figurative expense of the very people that have allowed him to live his dream..... tough call.
