am i gaining right?

I'm not a bodybuilder!
Apart from my body I want to no if I am gaining ok in the gym.

ill keep it simple and talk about my bench press.

i'm 181lb and maybee 20% body fat.

I started of benching 55kg for sets of 12/10/8 (at first i just found a weight I maxed out on for 12 reps) 55kg was right

I started training 3 of January 2012 im just into my 4th month of training and my bench has increased up to 75kg for sets of 12/10/8.

Is this around an average strength gain?

I have no idea on what i should expect so I'm hoping you guys can help me out, BTW diet has only been good the past 2 months

so that's an 20kg increase in weight in 4 months? It don't seem much to me?

The real reason i ask this is because I want to no if the set and exercises are right what I'm doing, I keep it between 12-15 sets. flat bench x 3, incline x3, dumbbell flat x3 dumbbell incline x3 and flys x3. I use no machines because the gym i go does not have any its a home gym, its got pretty much everything you need except machines.

In my opinion that's a pretty good increase bro. Your diet has to do a lot with how much weight you lift as well. More carbs, calories etc the more energy or strength you provide for the lift. But lifting heavy isn't what's important. Lifting smart, feeling the massive pump and maintaining form is what counts. Keep it going
 
apparntly i've been over training, i've got a bad shoulder now through it, gonna give it a rest for a week.
 
since this post bench has increased to 80kg now for sets of 10/10/8, feels quite heavy still, my 1 rep max is 110kg, but thats on the smith machine, free bar is 105kg just cant get the extra 5kg out on free weights haha!
