Hey everyone. I had some issues with blood work after a cycle. I am trying to get everything back to normal. Through my rounds of blood tests it came out that my test is low. 126.. Dr put me on Androgel.. Now I have pushed test in the past.. 650/week. I have Acne issues...

I really just want to level out feel better and keep my physic. Now I don't expect to see any gains just want to keep muscle tone and feel better...

Looking for people that have used the androgel any tips? When to apply? How long it takes to dry? Any Acne issues? Any advice would be greatly appreciated....

Thanks.

The Androgel didn't really work well for me but it was bet to apply after showering. I put it on my shoulders (I swear they began to look more muscular after awhile with no working out). When my dose go upped to 10gm daily it was a pain in the ass. Shoulders, upper arms, lower back and abdomen if I needed to. My rationale was more skin coverage would mean more absorption...not sure if this is sound but intuitively it made sense to me. I had read on a forum to avoid the breast areas as it might make you more prone to gyn...this didn't make a lot of sense to me but I avoided it just the same.

I did the Androgel thing for 8 months or so.

Never had any acne issues.

Takes about 15 minutes to dry completely.

Didn't raise my test considerably, went from 220 ish to 320 ish. Injections have worked much better for me.

I agree Androgel is not the way to go.

Most people are happier just doing injections.

Injections keep your blood levels more stable, dont have to worry about the gell rubbing off on your kids or wife, androgel converts to DHT more then injections and you only have to do a injection once per week.

Agree, it's crap. I took it for two years and got serious hair loss. The stuff converts to DHT very quickly it seems. I do injections now and am much happier and little hair loss to report.

I think I would respond to a nigerian scam email before I would let my doctor put me on androgel. Not only is it 350$ a month with good insurance, it is only 3-5% testosterone and the base it is made out of is apparently not desirable. If you want cream, just go to a compounding pharmacy and get a 10% T cream (much better but less than a pea size is needed as a dose).

I read on boards in the UK that guys prefer androgel to injections as it keeps test levels more stable, but would agree it converts to DHT more easily than injections.

To me gel is a total roller coaster. My levels spike really high for like 3 hours and then plummet. If I had to take a shot every day even instead of gel I'd probably do it. That is how much I hate gel of all kinds.
