Start on a decline bench, slowly lower yourself until your around halfway down, to the point where you feel the most resistance. Hold that for a slow count of 5, then slowly bring yourself back up. That's one rep, aim for say 5 sets of 5 reps, to start, once you can do that, either add more reps or start to add weight. My abs now stick out to the point where I can see them pretty well even when carrying a lot of bodyfat. This was taught to me by a nationally ranked powerlifter, as a means of strengthening my abs to improve my squat, so it has that benefit as well as building wicked looking abs."

I've been doing this for only a couple weeks now, but I think my abs are getting stronger from it so far. Anyone else use this?

No, but I think I'll start it tonight. Sounds good.

I'm interested in hearing how it goes. At first I thought it would not be too hard, but if you really stick to the slow five count it is rough. I had to start out with no weight for a couple weeks, and just today I used a 10 pound plate.

I've tried this today and it's really good. I have just one qestion about it. It might sound stupid but do you breath during those 5 seconds when you're holding the move?

As far as I know, yes :) It can get difficult to breathe when you're near failure though.

Yeah, I just wish I tried this a lot sooner. I dig it...it's fast and easy, no more going through 3 or 4 different ab exercises.

Adding this to my routine, as I've been told that it improves alot of compound movements as well as my speed.

Christ i never heard of it,,, but i've seen a lot of pics of Needsize on this site,,,, and fuck, if he looks like that from doing this ab workout, i'm DEFINATLY gonna try this out.

Good post Beans!!

Tried it last night for the first time, and my abs feel like somebody hit me in the gut with a baseball bat. Great workout in a short time....I love it.

its the only ab routine I've done for over 5 years now, and in the show I did this year they were by far the best in the show, if done right you dont really need anything else

Just curious, but what about oblique stimulation? Seems like this exercise targets the rectus abdominis GREAT, but I really don't feel it in the obliques.

I think you get all the oblique work you need from deads.
