are flyes supposed to hurt your shoulders!

you may be going down to low, stop an inch or two before your shoulders start to hurt. If it is just your front delt causing you pain, it may be a week point in your body.

I am with you bro..i train off as i do on...to me i train heavy all the time..i may put in a couple weeks while off for some cutting and definition, but i always maintain my same level of training no matter what..

...why would one train less while off, you vcant properly maintain what youn got while on, nor can you progress past that while off...and on the flip side, why would you train less while on then off...just because you are on, does not mean thatm yopu automatically grow...you still have to train...

Are you using a machine or dumbells ???? When I use a machine the front of my delts hurt - but it doesnt hurt bad , just the muscle burning from the acid buildup..
 
If your shoulders are bothering you, you may be going down to far when you are doing your flyes. :)
 
I think that the problem lies with a tight anterior deltoid (front of the shoulder) Lack of flexibility is often a problem with muscle soreness during exercise.
To increase the range of movement and flexibility, try holding a press up (push up) at the very bottom of the movement for 20-25 seconds, and do 3 sets resting for 1 minute inbetween.
