Recently going through the frustration of my first very annoying injury since starting lifting weights.
I think it started while doing the hammer strength machine and pullups on back day (after I had been training bi's hard for awhile, probably stupidly hard).
Anyways, for the 1st week after that and especially the first 4 days I had a shooting pain that would come in waves (pain.. then not much, then pain), starting from top side of my forearm right near the elbow joint.
If the diagram I'm looking at is right its (Brachioradialus) and the (Extensor carpi radialis longus) muscle where it was happening. Then later as it healed, that pain stopped but still even 3-4 weeks later I feel aggreviation where the bicep muscle meets the elbow joint even if I try very low weight bicep exercises.
Also at the same time as this I was getting some pretty good pain on the side of my arm facing my body (if palms are facing out) when trying to do bench or especially when talking the weigh off or putting it onto the rack. That has pretty much stopped but it does come back although not nearly as badly.
Went to the doctor about it about 2 weeks in, he looked at my arm for about 1 minute (literally), couldn't find anything wrong with it and said while leaving probably was tendonitis, lift lower weight next time...
Anyways, anyone have a similar injury before? any advice?
Should I try a low weight bi workout and see how it responds ?
Thanks for any advice.
