AST and ALT over top of range, but thinking it's what I was eating

My AST/ALT values have always been about 30 or below, with top of ref range in the 40s. I don't have the labs with me, but my AST was 50 and ALT 60 on my last bloodwork and my E2 was elevated above range as well.

So, this was bloodwork done on a monday after Thanksgiving. Thanksgiving dinner had a little blow up with my family and the days after thanksgiving had a lot of emotional eating for me. Like a half gallon of ice cream a day, every day along with chocolate in excessive amounts. I was getting my usual protein intake, but was probably consuming in excess of 5000 calories of additional crap every day, with at least a couple thousand calories from sugar.

By monday morning I was clearly retaining water and feeling and looking pretty awful. I just happened to have scheduled some labs for myself. When I got the results I was surprised to see the liver markers, it's never been elevated before. In addition, the E2 had been stable for a LONG time, and I had no symptoms or indications of it being elevated until the day before the bloodwork.

When I got the results on Tuesday afternoon, I quit pigging out and by today I've finally shed the water I was retaining and starting to feel normal again. (Somewhere in there I pr'd my deadlift at 500 pounds as well, so it's not all bad!)

My theory is the massive load of fructose (half of the sugar) on my liver really did a number on it. Since the liver is responsible for clearing excess estrogen, and it was occupied with all the fructose I was throwing at it, the equilibrium was disturbed.

I've read a lot about fructose and the liver, and while Dr. Lustig is perhaps the strongest opponent to it, his stuff does seem to make sense.

I'll get labs done again next week or the monday after, but just wanted to see if anyone thought my theory held water and had any feedback.
