Excited? I personally would be pissed if I was Marquardt or Hendo. I love Dan but I wasn't very excited about seeing him fight against Silva again. He did win the first round last time they fought but Nate has looked a lot more improved since he lost to Silva. Suppposedly, Hendo and Marquardt are fighting on the same card. Those should be 2 good fights. I got Silva and Marquardt, both by TKO. This choice had a lot of people pretty pissed off. I agree that it is unusual to give Vitor a shot after only being back for a minute but... It's fucking Vitor. It's no different than if Fedor or Mousassi came over. They should be dropped to the top of the pecking order. Should be a good fight.

i agree. to me, a 'high' ranked fighter ought to get a shot, even if he is just returning. belfort before Hendo or Marquardt... well he did cream rich much the same as silva did. should be an excellent fight imo. and on the upside, if belfort wins, he will likely be an easier fight for either hendo or Marquardt to win.

Very good point about Marquardt and Hendo having a better shot against Vitor. I think Silva will win this fight though. I think he will be motivated to finally have a challenge and he'll win by TKO. I couldn't be more interested in Silva fighting anyone else at MW.

I'm goin with Belfort. He has a lot to prove still and I think this will be his big comeback. Gonna be a good fight either way.

i think i give belfort the edge in speed, and on the ground. silva all the way for technique though. power , i think they run about the same in terms of ko power. really interested in seeing this fight. hope belfort can make weight though.

I don't know if I agree with Belfort having an edge on the ground. Silva basically submitted Lutter (triangle with strikes), submitted Hendo and earned his black belt from Nog. Silva's ground game is overshadowed by his pinpoint accuracy striking.

hmmm lutter was 100% gassed when he got caught, personally i think he was just looking for an out at that point. hendo was still rocked from punches.

don't get me wrong, i'm not saying silva isn't solid on the ground, he is. i just think belfort has an edge.

Vitor is 19-8 with 2 submissions ever. He also got submitted by Alistair Overeem in the first round of thier fight. I know Anderson only has a couple sub wins too but I don't see where Vitor has an edge on the ground.

Just for fun, in case someone hasn't seen them before, here are Silva's 2 submission loses. The infamous "flying heelhook" and the lose against Takase which was an amazing step over transition to Triangle

i guess i am just remembering when he started out, and was hyped as having been a Gracie star pupil. still, its going to be a great fight i think.
