Bench Press sticking point

rome wasnt built in a day
Besides doing board presses does anyone have any recent movements to help work past sticking points? Mine is at the very top of the lift just before arms are extended

Bands, chains, floor presses, negatives.. u can even set pins in the squat rack to work out your range of motion where your sticking point is.

Good call right here, floor presses are great for this. When you bring the weight down let it rest on your triceps and then push, thats gonna help the top portion of you press become stronger.

^^^ I also like heavy handouts. Go about 70lb over ur max and have one or two guys help u get it up and just hold it locked out. This is good to let ur central nervise system get use to heavier weights.

I do floor presses, heavy dips, overhead press etc. Its a weird sticking point, I have no problem at the bottom of the movement where you start at floor presses, bands and chains would be nice to try..ive thought about adding more weight that I can handle for half reps with spot but not sure

Do what u can. The smith can be a helpful tool. Just position the stops below your sticking point.

The smith machine is only good if you can actually put it on your back and squat the damned thing, otherwise leave it for the xyzz fans

I'm not one for machines either, I tried squatting on the smith machine... Never fucking again it feels so awkward and feels like your cheating it lol, but that's not to say machines don't have their place

I left the last gym that only had smiths hahahaha

Edit* 'twas a Planet Fitness though :(

Wouldn't expect anything less lol, I will never train at one of those commercial gyms, i fucking love my gym (old school style, no fancy bullshit here)

Chains. Especially at your sticking point. With chains the lift gets progressively hard the higher you go in the extension of your arms. It will improve the very part of your lift that is your sticking point. Best of luck.
