I would like to get some varied opinions about what makes the chest grow best. I have tried doing incline dumbells first instead of flat bench. I am liking it a great deal. Cable flyes seem to be stimulating me as well. Lets hear it!

this built my chest from 2000 til present. incline dumbells, flat dumbells, and dumbell flyes. then i dropped the flyes and started doing weighted dips chest style. i found what works for my chest. now i need to find what works for my damn side delts.

Narrow grip Decline bench helps me. Flat bench doesn't seem to be as effective.
Diet, Diet, Diet

pullovers.....alot of pullovers. dumbell pullovers work best for chest stimulation for me....just depends on your bone structure. i know usually people categorize this exercise as a back...but the fact is it also works the chest...and serratus(rib cage muscles). once you get those rib cage muscles pretty thick...your chest will look like slabs of meat (in conjunction with focusing on incline bench alot).

just my two cents.

Pullovers are excellent especially after a set of 20rep squats they expand your ribcage, I also like super slow dips.

We aint all hulk like you husky with the super slow dips and the 20 pull-up's, LOL. I wish my big ass could do dips period Im still using the sissy weight assisted machine.

I also love pullovers. Sometimes if you hit them just right you can almost here a little snap between the pecs when you pull the chest out I love that.

you work your way up. i now can strap 70 pounds and do 4 reps last set after dumbell pressing. but for more reps like 8-10, i do a 45 pound plate. i only weigh 155 or so at 5'6". work up to it, get off the assisted machine and try them with your own bodyweight. start from there.

i never do pullovers, perhaps i should try them, more upper chest never hurts. i was thinking about doing them after my 20 rep breathin squats i did yesterday but i do chest tomorrow (2 days between squatw and bench) so i didnt want to do it then. what is the purpose of doing pullovers after those squats anyway? does the squat expand your rib cage or something?

Lately Im been doin dips another girly way. I put my hands behind the flat bench feet legs out and just go ass to the floor and up. Tommorow is Chest shoulders and tri's so I think Im gonna get on the real dipper.

? How far down do you go? It seems like if you go to chest high it's way too much strain on the shouloders.

ah..so it's like a floating push-up huh..:)
yeah, pullovers are really great for the ribcage, chest, serratus, and yes, it also hits your upper back to some extent

finally some people who agree with me. if you guys do pullovers(machine or dumbell) alot they you'll get a thick full chest.

just make sure you do some incline presses while you're at it

its gonna be a very small % who do agree with you OT.

any other movements we need to add to pull overs and incline presses to make our chests grow?

why are there SO MANY CHEST THREADS LOL. ok i loved chest since i first lifted. thats 5 years ago. at that point i told myself i will train at the maximum intensity needed to develop the chest i always wanted. i saw the big boys at my first gym doing heavy dumbells both incline and flat, and dumbell flyes. later i learned about weighted dips and i could barely do them with my own bodyweight. now i can strap on 70 pounds and rep out a few. and i built my chest with heavy dumbells and weighted dips FOCUSING on progressive overload (increasing strength).

Never had a prob. w/chest, I'd say thats about my best body part. Here's whats worked for me. Variations of bench(incline, decline, flat) start w/a diff. one every wk. so i'm not always the strongest on one. Use fairly heavy weight w/barbell and also heavy dumbells. Weighted dips, reverse grip bench. (dips and reverse grip has actually helped bulk up my tris more then anything, but also helps w/chest)Oh, also switch up my hand position when benching, so i'm not always the same grip (wide, narrow, and in between). I do db flies too, but thats just mainly when i'm toning. Used to do pullovers 2, but have been kinda slacking on the pullovers and flies lately.
Diet is a big part 2.

mabye its genetic for me..but i used to do alot of pullovers when i was in college.....and just incline presses(dumbell or barbell). i got nothing from flat bench except for more shoulder injuries.
