Beta-alanine the next big thing

You post there? But you have a grasp of english grammar, and you actually know things.

Maybe I should go back and check it out, but the last time I was there, it just reminded me of the playground outside of a McDonalds: I felt cheap and dirty just for looking at it. Waaaay too many kids.
there are a lot of kids, and you have to fish a lot for any kind of information. however i like to help out were i can there. lot of good guys with good intentions. plus i got FREE supp's...LOL

i will ink my log here when i get it up over there.

That's the problem with internet boards. The main ones are full of idiot kids:
Prime Example -
Bodybuilding:
www.bodybuilding.com

You have to search out the medium sized boards that are not as easy to find on google in order to avoid all the bullshit newbie and kiddie posts. I find some of the best boards are found by word of mouth. I have very little patience, so BB.com would drive me up the wall in about 5 minutes and over there is it hard to help a board full of know-it-alls.

Here's something on Carnosine...

Additionally we show that carnosine inhibits formation of MDA-induced protein-associated advanced glycosylation end products (AGEs)

This is HUGE! AGE products are thought to be one of the main indicators of the aging process in general. In other words, if you limit AGEs you should be extending your lifespan. I haven't seen any studies on beta-alanine resulting in inhibition of AGE's though, it may only work by taking carnosine itself.

i'm not great a reading the pubmeds but sometimes i find a little gold nugget..

2g/day of carnosine stops AGE formation in it's tracks, I'm not sure the equivalent dose of beta-alanine though.

Right now beta-alanine is pretty big with the life extensionists. I'm pretty sure it's related to carnosine.

probably like 15 grams

I doubt it, straight carnosine supplementation is pretty inefficient. Plus I think they 'load' it for a few days and then go to ~4 grams/day for beta alanine in the studies, and the carnosine levels continue to increase for months.

It looks like pretty interesting stuff. I asked about it not too long ago and got almost no responses.

15g was a joke. Sounds like you can dose it like creatine mono....then they'll come out with a beta-alanine-ethyl ester or BA-AKG and you'll only need 2-3g a day.

Yes...the only question I had was that most of the studies evaluated beta-alanine increasing carnosine in the muscles only, I'm wondering if there was any research that looked at levels throughout the body. I'm probably overthinking this... :insane2:

The only thing I've seen negative-wise is one study showed rats being taurine deficient or at least having extremely low levels of taurine after being dosed for awhile with beta-alanine.

There were no theories that I saw that would have explained this, nor have I seen it in more than one study.

well i typically dose 10-12g Taurine on work out days so i dont think i will be overly concerned when i get this product, but good looking out.

Sounds like everything is going good so far adida. Are you experiencing the tingling sensation like others?
