Bicep Training Question

Hey everyone,
I am noticing my bicep is getting bigger and bigger however I am noticing that it's the upper portion of the bicep that is getting peaked and bigger but not the lower end. Are there any specific or particular exercises that would aid in getting that particular area larger? I included a picture so you guys can have an idea of what area of the bicep I am talking about.

Unfortunately the shape of your bi can't really be changed, however the current shape you have will continue to grow with training and diet etc.

For most the area you mentioned doesn't have much muscle tissue really, just skin and tendons etc - as they say - it's genetics.

If it's any consolation mate, mine are the same - I can fit two fingers between the end of my bi and my elbow - but if you check you will find that there aint no muscle in that area, so therefore cannot be developed.

I agree and disagree here...you can shape you bicep by how much you lift and how you lift...you have an inner and out head as it pertains to biceps...outside is the outside of the arm, and inside is the inside..you can do different training exercises, using different grips, and wrist twisting motions as you lift to contract those heads differently to per say shape the muscle....but you need to lift for mass first imo, and then utilize a cutting type training method to shape, or define the muscle...genetics do play a part in how your muscles react, and the good lord made your muscles atachec to the tendons and bone the way it is..some people have longer muscle in their arms then other, thus making the muscle look differently on each person..but you can train to thicken up the upper and lower portions of each head of the bicep..

Yeah that's what I thought; genetics play the key role in this. I just threw the question out there to see if I might have been wrong or learned something new. Thanks.

true, you cant change the shape of the muscle, but people tend to use that as an excuse for not being able to pack some pounds onto certain parts of the body. i'd suggest some heavy hammer curls and you might start to see a difference in the area your talking about.

I would try adding two exercises to your routine if you do not already use them. Hammercurls are excellent for getting the forearm and lower part of the bicep. Secondly I like to do these last in my routine and that is reverse barbell curls. Curl with your palms facing downward. These hit the forearm and lower bicep very well IMO.

The Hammer curls are part of my routine but I will add now the reverse curls and see over the months if I feel a difference, thanks guys.

I agree with this post. When the bicep contracts, that muscle is then formed into a "ball" so theres nothing between your elbow and this ball when contracted but when you hold your arm out straight, it should connect all the way to the elbow. sounds tricky but just get the entire bicep bigger and you'll be fine.
