Blood bubbles when pinning...

I just pushed my 3rd injection for my cycle a few mins ago..I have did 2 cycles in the past..so I am familiar with the correct way to self inject IM..but after the aspiration and I push the oil in all the way and let go of the plunger I see 2 tiny blood bubble come back in just barely past the needle. If aspirated correctly why the blood bubble coming back up. No pain..no soreness. I figured I just nicked a vain at some point.

Thanks

You just put a knife into your body, expect some redness, especially if you nick a vein. Aspiration isn't necessary or even recommended.

There has always been redness..this is more like a hive rash. It's went down alot...so two questions then..why is aspiration not recommended and WB the blood bubbles. Thanks

Aspirating can cause trauma to muscle tissue. As for the blood bubbles in the syringe post injection, that is most likely cause by passing through a vein on the way out, nothing to worry about.

Aspiration needs to be done in a very specific manner in order to provide a benefit. It had been found by surveying thousands of health care practitioners that they were not spending enough time drawing back and waiting for the signs of venous intrusion. As a side effect of doing it incorrectly, trauma was a typical result - undoing any possible (as Schredder mentioned) benefit of said practice. There's also the fact that IM sites do not have blood vessels large enough to carry significantly enough oil depot into the blood stream, versus intravenously - which we all know about from movies and TV. Blood vessels in IM sites will collapse rather quickly, even if you were able to manage directly placing the needle into one due to their size and inability to handle such great pressures from a syringe.

The bubbles were likely just a vein you nicked on the way either in or out, and due to vacuum pressure being created in the syringe, drew the tiny pool of blood back in. This is typical, and absolutely nothing to worry about. Just be sure to NOT rub or ice/heat the site, as that will make things worse due to inflammation caused by "bringing attention" to the site of trauma. Just let it be, and things will return to normal. The only time to worry is if you notice a shiny red lump form, or you start to experience fevers and see spider-web like veins near the site. That is usually an indication of infection, which is rare if sterile procedures are followed.

Hope that helps. :)

The redness is gone..it went away about two hours after pin. Was my left medial delt. Not really sure BC I usually never get red places. Mabe I wiggled the needle alil more than I thought caused irritation.
