Blood keeps coming into syringe when aspiratingh

When I inject Into the glutes I always aspirate first when it goes in to check I'm not in a vein, then after half the syringe is empty I aspirate again to check I haven't moved into a vein, and twice in a row now on the second aspiration I have drew blood. Is this normal?

Glute shots btw. Maybe I should just concentrate on holding it still when aspirating?

I dont knoq if this is normal as I have never aspirated after a pin. You do not need to be aspriating after the injection man. Actually, technically you shouldnt even be aspirating before the injection. It can cause minor damage to the muscle. I havent aspirated in years.

Ok, I usually aspirate twice - once at the start and then halfway through I aspirate again, just to check I haven't moved the needle again.. I think this is stupid and I should just do it at the start and then keep the needle still - is there really a high chance of injecting into a vein in the glutes?

Chances of injecting into a vien are almost zero. Even if your in a vien, they are SO small that the lightest movement will move the pin out of it. Youll never be able to inject a significant amount right into a vien. You would however be able to inject a lot into an artery. But, If your in the correct spot that will never happen.

you tear so many micro vessels introducing the needle, and depending how fast you push the plunger/ gauge needle, even the jet escaping from the needle tears micro vessels - you will always have SOME degree of bleeding with an intramuscular injection

without you telling me - i know its not straight blood, its gear oil blood fluids all cloudy weirdly colored mix of shit..

shredder was spot on..

and aspirating is something that is no longer being taught or practiced - before during or after injections

hope this helps man

I have written so much on aspirating it tires me. Anyone who has seen my posts are just tired of it.
I used to be a junkie and doing IV injections I can tell you it is very hard to stay in a vein. WE are injecting IM and in a position that is at a right angle to the vein in most cases. It is lmost imposible to get more that a drop of compound in your vein as you pass through it, going in or coming out.

I'm tired of telling you to try to remember when the last time a nurse gave you an IM injection in the hospital or the DR. Office and had them Aspirate. Used some common sense and figure out the dynamics.

So in over 37 years of IM injections I have never aspirated. Aspirating mid injection is for IV injections. In all my years I have never seen or heard of an IM injection going wrong and injecting into the vein.

There is a chance of slight infection as well as causing blood to pool under the skin.

IMOP and proven to me and others you DO NOT HAVE TO ASPIRATE.

I started injecting in 1976..............

Rather than me explain it all, ask me any Q's you have on injecting and I'll be glad to answer them.

PS: I do want to ask a question to those who doubt.

How many times have they taken blood from you and their intention id to STAY in the vein and they have made a bloody mess out of your arm because they keep missing or passing through or coming out of the vein.

Do you think you can stab blindly into a muscle and stay in the vein throughout the 1mL or 1cc injection. :dunno:

Yeah you are right I'm stupid for aspirating halfway through, I'm probably damaging tissue and that's why it's bleeding. I have just rear horror stories of people coughing and heart racing that scares me enough to double check

What do you think is happening when these people speak of extreme coughing and dizziness etc after injections? By a small chance they hit the vein?

I have never gotten dizzy after an IM injection. Just by your Q's I see that you seem to be scared. You sometimes might pass through a vein but you will not stay in it. You are injecting into the tissue full of capillaries and so sometimes they bleed.

I have never had the cough and personally so I don't know about that. No one I know personally has had a problem like that.

Read what these guys have posted for you. Like I said, I can't even begin to count the number of injections I have done to myself and or others and I have never aspirated and I know I have nicked, hit, gone through many veins. It IS going to happen.

Yeah it's just recently when ive been reading the horror stories and what people have said happens when you hit a vein as well as the fact that blood kept coming into mine that has made me scared, although i have done 2-3 cycles and never happened. Thanks for clearing things up for me
