Blood Shot Out of Injection Site

Last Sunday when I was doing my test cyp injection (lower outer thigh) blood shot out of the injection site after I pulled the needle out. It was a thin stream that shot out about 4 - 6 inches. After getting over the initial shock, I dropped the syringe and pressed my hand down to stop the bleeding. When I took my hand off a minute later the bleeding had stopped. I've done several cycles before and never had this problem, so I'm trying to figure out what went wrong. I asparated, so I shouldn't have been in a vein when I injected. The only thing I can think of is I was in a hurry, so I may have pushed down on the plunger to hard and drove the needle in deeper while I was injecting. My legs were still pumped from doing squats and deadlifts a few hours ago, but it doesn't seem like that would cause the problem. Anybody know what would have caused this? Trying to figure out what I did wrong so I don't do it again. This happened five days ago so I assume I am alright at this point (no negative reactions). Thanks.

You went through a vein and it leaked by following the needle on the way out. Nothing to be alarmed about. You can Z-Track your injections if that's a concern.

2 types of bleeding post injection: vein and arterial.
Aspirating only ensures the needle TIP is not into a vein/artery. Doesnt mean you did not punch thru one.
If blood comes out slowly, like dripping out of the site thats a vein you hit.
In your case its arterial bleeding. When it "sprays" out like that...its arterial.
Its not a big thing... Happenned to me a few times. At first its pretty fucked up. Now i let it spray untill it stops, lowers my hematocrit by a tiny bit...
As long as you re clotting, its not an issue.

Seriously?

Thanks guys. Austinite, can you describe what you mean by Z-track? I never heard this term before.

You pull your skin next to the injection site. Once you're done injected you release your skin and pull the syringe out. This traps everything inside.

Yea, thats what i did last time it happened. It did not spray for long, maybe 5-6 seconds. I was in my bathroom, easy to clean up.
Its very rare that i hit an artery, maybe once per cycle at most.
Thanks for the Ztrack thing...thats pretty smart... didnt think of that...

hmmm. I drain and fill a 12 ounce bottle and barely make an impact. But I guess every little bit helps.

Yes this will happen to everyone at one time or another. It happen to me once on my right glut and now I avoid that same spot because there is a vain there. Just rember the spot you pinned and try not to hit it again.

Thanks for the input guys. Makes me feel better knowing this isn't a really uncommon thing. Thanks again for the illustration and description Austinite.

Yes very normal, just hit a vein on the way and as long as you aspirated you should be good. Happened to me on my delt, sink looked like a crime scene.
