bshank's TRT Log and Journal

Well, when I tried arimidex for the first and only time at .25mg, I had symptoms of extremely high anxiety, insomnia, dick was dead...dead for about 3-5 days.

Suffice it to say that I am trying everything I can to stay away from that drug. I just adjusted my dose, and I don't need it thank goodness.

2mg is a shit pot full! I wouldn't take that much, especially with no test to warrant it.

What were you running and in what interval when you experienced these symptoms?

Sooo... getting the thread back on track.

Week 3

Libido: Getting better. Actually initiated sex the other night with no prompting from the wife. I am still hoping to see improvement.
Mood: Same
Body Recomp: 221.8... so weight is still going up despite what should be a caloric deficit. I'm going to cut down on sodium to see if that helps with the water weight.

Other:

No other notable side effects. Pinning still freaks me out.

When I first started TRT I gained about 20 pounds and then once I got my E2 dialed in the weight came off plus some extra. Stick with it and you will be glad you did.

Thanks for info on your experience. It sure is frustrating seeing the scale go up when at a caloric deficit... even if you know that weight isn't from fat heh.

Plenty of guys will gain some water weight when starting trt, whether its estrogen related or testosterone elevation.

Anyways your protocol is crappy my friend.
200mg is a high starting point and will put most above the range for testsoterone and 2mg of adex is more then guys take while doing steroids.
HRT tends to be a less is more kinda thing.
Reccomend
50mgs 2X week, E3.5 days
250iu Hcg 2X week
No AI(arimidex)
Bloodwork after 6 weeks

ON your current protocol its going to take a while to get dialed in. Good luck

Thanks. Between you and Apollon I intend on having a discussion with the doc about this.

Week 4

Libido: It's still getting better. I'm still not a sex craved maniac but the desire does come and go now.
Mood: Same. Slight bout of depression but I think that more to do with going stir-crazy over the weekend. Most of my hobbies are off limits due to the back injury.
Body Recomp: 221.8... At least the weight hasn't gone past 221.8 for an entire week. My caloric intake is low and I am doing a decent amount of working out so I have to be losing fat even if the scale isn't reflecting that.

Other:

1. I am still scared to death when I do the IM injections. Everytime I do them I hit a point where I say 'fuck this, it isn't worth it' but I somehow make myself do it anyway.

2. Last weeks injection left a very sore spot and a non-visible lump under my skin. It feels like someone hit me with a bat on my leg. 7 days later it is still there but I think it's starting to lessen now. It's actually hurt with every step I take. Pretty darn annoying. The previous injections left a spot that felt like a small bruise but this was a bit ridiculous. No skin discoloring and you can't even tell there is a lump unless you feel around.

3. I talked to the doc and he convinced me to stay on my current protocol until the blood test that is coming up in a couple weeks. He said he starts out most people on my protocol and they do fine with it for months but they do have to back off the AI over time. I am skeptical but I will keep to it until the blood test. Now, if I start showing signs of an E2 crash that's different...

Week 5

Libido: It spiked for a few days after my last post and then dropped down quite a bit.
Mood: No notable changes... not depressed at the moment, at least.
Body Recomp: 219. The day after my last post my weight started slowly dropping again. No idea how much water weight I gained since I should of been losing fat at the same time. Hopefully the water weight gain is over with so I can start tracking my fat loss progress on the scale again.

Other:

1. I did my IM injection with my first poke which was a first. I'm still a nervous wreck when doing them.

2. My last week injection had zero pain afterwards so that was cool. In the past I would usually have a sore spot for a few days.

3. The HUGE sore spot and under-skin lump I had last week is gone. [/QUOTE]

Week 6

Libido: Compared to pre-TRT it is certainly improved. I kind of wish it improved more but I'll take what I can get I guess.
Mood: No notable changes.
Body Recomp: 220.4. I am pretty disappointed with the results here. I do what resistance training i can 3 days a week(remember, freshly herniated disc) and have started cycling 4-5 hours a week. Since starting TRT I don't believe my daily calories have surpassed 2000. Either water weight is masking a ton of fat loss or something else is going on. I took some recent pictures of myself and I see no notable difference in my physique as compared to a month ago. I am trying something new starting yesterday where I am going to eat more closely to what the calorie calculator's recommend which means actually eating MORE calories. For now I am aiming for 2100 which is actually difficult for me to hit. After 2-3 weeks I'll see what happens and adjust accordingly. Anyways, TRT hasn't seemed to help with losing fat or I am just having some really weird water weight issues that are lasting over a month.

Other:

1. The injections are getting easier though I still am very nervous and can feel my heart rate elevate while injecting.

2. Another week of no post injection pain, woot.

3. There is a chance my balls have shrunk a tiny bit but considering I'm not even sure of it myself I would say it's nothing to worry about.

4. I think next week I take my blood test. I am interested to see where my E2 is at considering everyone says they put me on a high dose.

Week 7

Libido: No change from last week.
Mood: No notable changes to me. My wife says she has noticed a difference. I didn't ask her she just told me.
Body Recomp: I'm still hanging out at the 219-221 range. re-fucking-diculous. It's like my body is defying the laws of physics.

Other:
nothing.

Are you still on your original protocol?

I know you've heard it here before, but that protocol has got to change man. None of the 3 medications that you're taking seem to be dosed appropriately.

Yea, same protocol. My doc is convinced this is the way to start out and how he has started out all of his other trt patients. I have a blood test next week so it will be interesting to see the levels(I will post them of course). I am assuming my protocol will be switched up at that time. With the results and my doctor's reaction to them I will also be able to tell if it's time to do some doctor shopping.

Even with the whacked out dosage I have seen improvements in mood/libido so hopefully I'll see more improvements as the protocol gets modified.

Thanks for checking in!

That's rough man. Have you noticed any benefit from such a low dose of hCG?

I *think* they have a little bit. If they have it's been small enough that I would be hesitant to give a definitive 100% yes.

Fair enough. That's the lowest dose of hCG that I've seen in a TRT protocol but if it's working for you, good stuff.

I probably misrepresented my HCG dosage. The vial says 5000 U Injectable. I mix in 3mg of sterile water and twice a week i inject 50 insulin syringe units of it.
