Can Anybody Else Pullup/Chinup MUCH More Than They Can Row?

I'm trying to figure out why my barbell rowing is so weak (I guess the fact that I've been training for 2.5 years and only BB Rowing for about 2 months has something to do with it). A few months ago when I was 218lbs, I did a set of 5 or 6 chinups with 70lbs added on, then another set of 6 with 55lbs added on, then a final set of 6 with 45lbs. My personal best row is something like a pathetic 175lbs for 5 :(. I've heard that your BB Rows should be somewhere close to your bench, but I've benched 295 for a set of 5 before, which is much, much higher than my BB rows :(

Whenever I do BB Rows, I'm fine for the first few reps, then I just lose all my strength and can hardly move the bar. I have a similar problem with T-Bar rows (I used to do those regularly before I started doing BB Rows) but it wasn't nearly as bad, and I was at least using a respectable weight with the T-Bar rows. I'm pretty good at cable rows too, it's just BB Rows that are killing me. And I don't really care about the weight, I'm not trying to show off, it's the fact that I'm not really making progress that's pissing me off. Especially when I've made such great progress with other exercises

Anybody got any advice for me? Maybe BB Rows just aren't my exercise and I should stick to heavy chinups/pullups and T Bar rows? Perhaps try DB rows instead?

are you pulling deads? I alternate deads and BB rows each week and that helps. But i don't try to overdo it on BB rows either.

Yeah, I do deads, I'm not that strong at deads (I've done sets at 325lbs) but my deads aren't even close to as weak as my BB Rows

put the weight on and lift the damn bar.dont not do a lift because your not good at it evidence has it you have a weak pt.with those so work your weak pt.out and it wont always be weak.

I understand that I have to do things I'm weak at. My lower back is pretty weak, so my squats and deads aren't as strong as they should be. I still do them on a regular basis becuase I know they're essential. I'm trying to find out if BB Rows are that essential. I'm hoping there are many other back exercises that I can do that would make BB Rows redundant in my routine. It's not so much that I'm weak at them, it's that I'm hardly making any progress. It's also annoying when I do chins/pullups for reps with more weight than nearly anybody in my gym, yet my bb rows are still ridiculously weak, and don't seem to be getting any better

I can deadlift alot, but as far as bb rows I have NO clue cuz I never do them. I heard they are kinda hard on the shoulders. I have had a shoulder injury in the past and it doesn't take much to screw up my right shoulder, so i've stayed away from bb rows. Might try them, but am very leary of them because of that fact. Sorry i'm not much help on this 1. Just keep working at it. If you've only been doing them for 2 mos u're bound to go up in weight. Just train, EAT, and rest. Youll gain. :D

Most people I have seen row are doing a "herk and Jerk" movement... I don't see how they are getting anything out of them with the amount of weight they are using... don't feel bad... I "could" bench between 375-385 but when I row (if I row) I never go over 185..with good form...
