Ok here goes bf currently 15-17% and i took a deep look into the ketosis diet, however i have been advised that this ketosis diet is not for me at all i am a type 1 diabetic and my nutritionist has told me that the ketosis diet would make it very difficult to get fine control of my blood sugars, not to mention the dangers of having keytones floating around my system this is bad for diabetics, so have anyone got some simple advice on fat burn? i currently use 500-600 calories over my recommended for growth and i DO NOT eat anything with carbs after 4pm on any day what so ever, so i am about bang on with my diet even my nutritionist agrees, what things can i do to burn this fat...more cardio? something else? its only bottom belly fat but f me its hard to shift!

What's your stats? How many calories are you consuming a day? What do your macros look like? There is a bunch of different factors that could contribute to this. If you are trying to lose fat then why are you eating at a caloric surplus? And contrary to popular belief, you dont have to eat ridiculously low carbs just to lose fat. I know guys getting shredded on 300 carbs a day. If you would provide a little more info in regards to stats and diet, then giving advice would be easier.

184lbs 6'
breakfast = 1 apple and 130g oats
mid morn = 2 chicken breasts with 100g pasta
lunch = jacket potato (medium) with tuna
mid afternoon = some fish either tuna steak, lemon soul, salmon fillets or 16oz of rump steak with 50g brown rice
dinner is always after 4pm so little or no carbs generally chicken thighs or ribs with various natural flavorings i add myself

i train from 1230pm till around 2-230pm after which i have a protein shake that contains 500 cals mostly from fats, also have whey isolate and slow release amino's before bed, this is a recent change in diet as my last one was not so good lol this diet has been ok'd by my nutritionist but this person is solely a diabetes nutritionist and cant help much with fat loss or bodybuilding, my diet changed from a post i made before about getting fat im told its good from various people and understand that fat loss especially lower belly fat is hard to lose, i do feel my diet is ok but the main answer i need is about anything i can do in the gym to speed up the loss, cheers for the reply bro

How many calories are you consuming each day? All you need is a caloric deficit to shed fat. Ketosis just makes the fat loss slightly more efficient. If your really worried just do a slightly larger deficit to make up for it... Say 600 or 700 calories below maintenance.

caloris intake is between 3000 and 3200 depending my rate should be 27-2800 so should i drop to maintenance rate or just below?

If you r trying to loose fat, u gotta eat less calories than u burn. so if your maitance calorie intake is 2800, id recommend you to eat like 2300 kcal a day.. and see where it takes u..

Is THAT what we're calling it now? The ketosis diet? I remember when it was called the Adkins diet and it was shown that ketosis was nonsense, and that the reason the diet sometimes worked is that the people on it simply ate fewer calories.
Work more, eat less. Or have a limb sawn off. Those are the two ways you can lose weight. Forget everything else you have ever heard.

Everyone has the same tools to help lose fat...

-Reduce calories
-Increase Cardio/Workout intensiveness
-Nutrient timing (fasting, eating most of your carbs postworkout, etc. to minimize fat gain)
-Fat burners

Probably more, but these are the core in my opinion.

Atkins is not ketosis. Atkins is low carb diet. Just because you are low carb doesn't meen your body is in ketosis. You need to get ketones strips to test your urine to find out if you are in ketosis or not. Two different people may enter this state with different amount of carbs.

I dunno. Still smells like a fad. I do remember the trial where the people on the Adkins diet were constantly monitored and it turned out that ketosis was occurring on such a minor scale as to be having absolutely negligible effect. They were simply feeling fuller and eating fewer calories.

That because they were still consuming too mAny carbs. I need to be under 40g carbs to grt into ketosis. I've actually measured my ketones. Atkins is a fad. Ketosis is real deal. People just assume that if they are low carb, they are keto. Wrong...

Don't use any particular diet. Just cut carbs and keep protien high. A strick diet if for competition. You just need to drop weight.

Strength training will build lean body mass. Cutting carbs back , especially after 5pm will help a lot, and cardio will burn calories. Don't make this complicated friend. It's simple.

Good luck to you brother! I want to see you reach your goals.

I would recommend researching carb cycling.
Eat majority of carbs (complex) during day then resort to low carb/ higher fat (with vegetables) in evening.
The amount of protein you can eat should remain about constant throughout the day.
Run this all your nutritionist and doctor, and keep an eye on your blood glucose...you know that :)

There are a lot of individuals who have diabetes, so google and research various forums for further information.

Good luck!

Most nutrient timing is negligible at best. You don't need to cut carbs at 4 or 5 to lose fat.

See where this takes you. You can split your meals evenly or mix and match to get your macros.
200 grams protein
200 grams carbs
50 grams fat

Try to get a good portion of the carbs and maybe around 50g of protein post workout
Lots of vegetables to stay full and get your 40-50grams of fiber into the day

It doesn't have to be complicated but you absolutely NEED a calorie deficit. Healthy and "clean" cals don't mean shit when it comes to losing fat unless you're in a deficit. It's about hitting your macros and then adjusting them to figure out what works for you.

Cheers for the info......i shall now delve into the deep dark depths of my diet and figure this out bit by bit trial and error thanks for the support

Hey, that's what we are here for! It's nice to have an OP who listens to advice...this is far more rare than it should be.

Good luck and keep trying to figure out exactly what your body likes. Give each change in diet a while to kick in so you can see what is happening. Too many guys don't see results right away so they switch everything up and repeat the cycle.

Try to change only 1 variable at a time and see how you respond. Have patience and you'll get to where you want to be

I also highly rec carb cycling for fatloss!

I would cut carbs just before bed tough, more related to gh and sleep quality.

yup carb cycling would be great for your position... having your lowest carb day be 100g should be enough to keep things leveled.. type 1 guys have a big advantage with being able to freely use slin..

all my clients who cut do best with carb cycling too...
