I know that you want to get your carbs in definitely post w.o and maybe pre, but whats your guys opinions on carbs and gaining? Are they really needed as much as people think?? A friend of mine in his early 30 barely takes in 150 carbs, he consumes most of them post w.o. Hes in amazing shape! which he has cycled before but nothing crazy....he has replaced his carbs with additional protein per meal....any opinion guys?

I'm not going to fully agree but I do a high protein, low carb diet myself. I up the carbs in the summer cuz I burn a lot of calories. Since I'm not working now, I take in lower carbs and consume a bit more protein sources foods. For instance, i average 3-4 lbs of chicken and 15 egg whites a day. I'll eat other things too, but that's my base. Some rice, a salad, and very little or no bread. Summer time, I eat pb&j's, oat meal, pasta, etc... Just depends on my physical activity. I wouldn't have no energy at all if I didn't eat any carbs.

If you don't get enough carbs your body will use your protein for energy. So yes you need carbs.

Depends what your goals are, when bulking u need lots and lots of carbs, amount would depend on your weight, for cutting u can go really low like 50g pre/post workout

unless you want to start breaking muscle down for energy, you better get some carbs!

For bulking you definitely should include carbs. About an hour before workouts I'd consume a whey protein shake with maltodextrin in it and some BCAA. Then about half an hour after my workout I'd have another whey protein shake with dextrose and glutamine to replenish lost glucose from the workout.

Cool....what about on a test e cycle....ive got a show coming up in june, my first one so I am.trying to see how to eat while cutting and running my cycle witg good gains

my diet is about 2500 calories fat, 1600 calories protein, and about 400 calories carbs.

your body doesn't burn muscle in the absence of carbs, it burns fat...so I give it fat. a shitload of it.

carbs are essential to replenish your muscles glycogen which is necessary for recovery and is the energy that fuels your muscle

I follow high protein and high dietary fat and low carb. The only carbs I eat is post workout to replenish glycogen. 1 cup white rice for small body parts, 2 cups white rice bigger body parts. I do that six days a week. Then either on saturday or sunday I have a carb load day. Where I eat copious amount of carbs, pasta, rice, potatoes, bread, etc.

Contrary to bro science, your body will begin to convert muscle into ATP before fat because it is easier and requires less energy. Fat is a last resort for your body. If you don't get the glycogen your body needs from carbs it'll hit the muscle.
