Chest troubles

When I lift I get great pumps and I "feel" like I had a great workout. Within the past month or so I can't get that same pump that I used to feel while doing chest. It almost feels like my triceps are getting most of the work. I have good form when I lift but lately I just cant get the chest pumps anymore. Do any of you have any input as to why this is happening.

because you are not workign teh chest and using more of your triceps..make sure elbow is out when ur doing chest on the flat bench, incline and decline..

Thanks but I do practice proper form and elbows are where they need to be. That is why I am concerned. But thank you

Ok I had the same problem when I started with barbell press eventually I felt it more in my tris than my chest (muscle adaptation). Started doing dumbell flys key is form keep your elbows locked at about 170 - 180 degrees if you do this correct there is no tricep involvement virtually all pec. Use a weight you can control so that you get a full pec stretch at end. Control on the eccentric more explosive on the concentric. Do it till you are reasonably fatigued. Follow this with barbell bench you wont lift as much but I garantee you will feel it in your pecs.

I always get a better chest work out from dumbell presses rather than barbell. I never use the barbell except for close grip press for tri's. All my chest work-out is performed on cable machines with pure strict movements. It aint in the amount of weight bro. Any intelligent experienced person will tell you that:)
And thats chest pump worthy......;)

Are you effing serious??? With your great advice he will lift heavy and rip his pec and/or rotator cuff. And to quote DC about injury in flatbench `` Its not if, its when``... Flatbench done correctly is a tricep mainly move, thats why a lot of powerlifters start lifting heavy numbers when they rip a pec and start using proper technique.

Dumbells are a lot better at hitting the chest like Ozzy said, they are also a lot safer.

And i must ask, getting a pump feels great and good old Arnie goes on about it, BUT what does have to do with groing muscle or getting stronger?!?!

Stop reading bodybuilding magazines, the best training advice i can give.
