when i do my chest workout i only get my chest pumped on the last set of decline flys ... this is what i do...

flat bb press 4 sets.

inline db 4 sets..... after this still no pump?

decline flyes 3 sets..... after this now fully pumped up.

flat flyes 2 sets.

what am i doing wrong?

i'm pretty sure that just because you're not getting a pump fast doesn't mean that you're doing something wrong. It generally takes time for me to get pumped as well.

i have a pro carb meal before i workout then a shake after workout....

iam going to do decline flyes 1st on my next chest workout to see if its just the flys pumping it up.... when doing flys its alot easyer to squeeze the chest at the top of the movement what i think makes it pump?...

it's possible your not exerting everything you have into the work out. if your cheating or not upping the weight in each set your body will get used to the weight and not respond/get pumped as it would with heavier weight. I'd suggest also adding Decline bench after incline then flies. Try to go up in weight each set maximum weight for givin set. I do 10,8,6,4 and go up in weight 10lb each set. My chest feels like some one ripped it apart.

I dont get crazy pumps in my chest either, but I do go up about 20lbs every set.

Once in a while Ill start at 135 and then just add 20 every set until I can only get one rep. That kills me, Im usually dead after that and get a good pump.

So it goes like this: 135,155,175,195,215,235,255...something like that...When I do it I usually try to do it like x14,x12,x10,x8,x6,x4,x2

no offense barnzy but that's retarded.. I hope you don't do 7 sets on every exercise. If you're trying to build muscle stay with the low rep heavy weight. High reps does'nt attack the muscle building fibers as much.. also with that many sets your probably losing energy compromising the efficiency of the other exercises.

pre-exhaust is a good idea(doing the flyes first). perhaps you're going too heavy on the BB benches? maybe widen/narrow your grip......its hard to say . it could be one of many things, or a combination of a few.

4 sets of how many? Are you new to lifting? Maybe you dont have your form down yet. Im amazed at how many people in the gym that are not novices dont know how to bench press. They just lay down and pump out thier reps as fast as they can. Its all about control and ripping your muscles to pieces. In my opinion there should be at least a 3 second negative followed by a slight pause at the bottom then explode up. I do a 5 second negative on every rep and im pretty damn pumped after my first set.

lol thanks....Ive only done that once in the last 2 months...maybe. It kills me when I do it. My usual thing is 5 sets of heavy weight, low reps lol. just so you dont think Im a complete moron.

But I will say one more thing, hate it as much as you will, when I first started throwing the 7 set routine I talked about, I saw my greatest strength increase in bench.
