Clomid causing LH desensitization??????!!? Helpp!

I have been on clomid for 3 months now at 50mg/day

According to Zeek who made that topic "Beyond PCT clomid is one of the best test boosters available" or something like that, he has been taking clomid between all his cycles and its working great boosting his test by 160%

Comparing my blood results from the last one before my third cycle, my total test is more than double and my free test is 4 times higher than before....

I was pretty happy until i saw a post of this one guy saying that using clomid for longer than 4 weeks will cause LH desensitization and once i stop the clomid i'll crash and lose all my test and maybe go on testosterone replacement therapy (TRT) 4 life ???

I thought that only rly high doses of Human Chorionic Gonadotropin (HCG) could cause LH desensitization??

Please if anyone is a doctor or knows about this stuff?? is this guy talking shit about clomid??

Does it really cause LH desensitization?? will i go on testosterone replacement therapy (TRT) 4 life because i used clomid lol ?? im hoping it was a bad taste joke or just a retarded post from someone with no real info??

I made this topic cuz im paranoid by nature with stuff and because this doesnt make sense??? why would clomid cause such a thing?? if it did then it shouldnt be used on PCT right?? .... :(

I have also seen few people saying that doctors prescribed clomid at 25 mg/day for 300 days or something ??

I'd love to hear more about this, all the info I could find is outdated and could very well be wrong.
*awaits the big bros to chime in*

I am interested in this subject as well. Why have you been taking Clomid for 3 months though?

because of this topic

Also i have done some research before and i couldnt find anywhere that said clomid could fuck u up or something like that until yesterday.... and also because i cycled at a rly young age twice cuz of stupidity and although my total test was at a normal range, my free test was rly low so i cycled and kept taking clomid believing my body would recover and apparently it did.... im going to the doctor tomorrow and then i'll ask him about this aswell

And thx for your reply and the guy above too... im starting to feel some relief... maybe the guy who said that was just talking shit

because it rly doesnt make sense cuz when people are fucked up even takin clomid or Human Chorionic Gonadotropin (HCG) or w/e they wont recover and well my hormone levels are rly high with clomid only ?? means everything is fine isnt it? fuck i wish i had a doctor in my family lol

Pretty sure hes been using clomids to boost his own test (instead of using exogenous test). What you could do Rambo, is stop the clomids, and have another blood test. You will have an answer, and so will we :)
But i wouldnt worry about it too much...i doubt taking clomids for 3 months is worse then doing heavy test and whatnot for 16-20 weeks from which people still recover.

I think he mixed up clomid and hcg.
clomid has been recognized as an effective testosterone replacement therapy (TRT) option :

Abstract

Introduction: Male testosterone deficiency is associated with bad sexual function and quality of life (QoL). The aim of this study was to determine whether a daily dose of 25 mg clomiphene citrate (CC) is effective in stimulating the endogenous testosterone production pathway and to address the applicability of this medication as a therapeutic option for symptomatic hypogonadism. Materials and Methods: This was a prospective study. Men with low sexual desire and testosterone levels (T) below 400 ng/dL were selected to receive CC. Blood samples were obtained to determine baseline measurements of serum T, estradiol, LH, lipid profile and fasting plasma glucose. Each patient was treated with a daily dose of 25 mg CC for at least 3 months. Patients were asked if they experienced any side effects related to the use of CC and if they experienced any improvement in their sexual profile. Paired samples T-test was utilized to analyze responses to therapy. Results: Our cohort consisted of 125 men with hypogonadism and low libido. Mean age was 62 years (± 11.1 years). Serum T levels ranged from 309 ng/dL (baseline, mean value) to 642 ng/dL (3 months after CC initiation, mean value) (p < 0.001). Serum cholesterol levels ranged from 197 to 186 mg/dL (p = 0.003). There were no statistically significant differences when comparing pre and post-treatment HDL-Cholesterol, triglycerides, fasting plasma glucose and prolactin. All men reported improvements in the post-treatment QoL scores. No serious adverse events were recorded. Conclusions: The CC was effective in stimulating the endogenous production of testosterone. A lower level of total cholesterol was verified after three months of treatment. This medication should be considered as a therapeutic option for some patients with symptomatic male testosterone deficiency.

Not answering your question but how's your aromatization with using clomid to boost your test production? Are you taking an Aromatase inhibitor (AI) at all?

Thx everyone and especially JimiThing
Im rly relieved right now

And no i havent been taking any Aromatase inhibitor (AI) but i never have any problems with aromatization... even when cycling sometimes i dont even have to take it... but i dont think clomid would cause aromatization if u r like done with ur post cycle therapy (pct) bro... I can tell u one thing bro... my libido and energy and all that shit is better than before i did my last cycle... my test levels are above max range right now i rly recommend it to everyone to take it between cycles since it will keep ur test lvls higher helping u mantain ur gains

If seek recommended it don't worry. He is probably one of the most knowledgable aas users around. So don't worry bud. He wouldn't guide us astray.

It is estrogen that causes the pituitary to stop producing LH, which in turn shuts down testosterone production in you nads. Clomid blocks the estrogen receptors in the pituitary so that it just keeps pumping out LH in its effort to reach homeostasis. The testosterone will STILL aromatize into Estrogen....it just won't effect your natural test production. I would suggest that an Aromatase inhibitor (AI) would still be a good course of action to maximize free test in your bloodstream.

Thus we have a prime example of the differences between a blocker and an inhibitor...

Why not just take an Aromatase inhibitor (AI) instead of clomid? Arimidex boosts natural test production by 70%, it "can" be an effective alterative for TRT.

I know so.. All it takes to figure it out is some reading: here's one http://www.maledoc.com/blog/2010/04/28/how-clomid-works-in-men/

I think he was saying that to lanier1974 and his question regarding HPTA suppression from long-term clomid use since he liked your comment. Anyway I agree with you since clomid also works through a negative feedback loop, its not like taking in exogenous test, its more like deceiving your body into producing more on its own

If that's the case, then my bad :) you're right...that is exactly what it's doing:tricking your body so it is continuously trying to achieve homeostasis.

Good thread. I so was considering this too. All the vets on this board tell young guys, go natty while you are young and have high test of your own. So if you can take a low dosage of clomid and double your test to higher than it was in my twenties then potentially you have even a few more years of gains before you plateau and have to go on gear.....? Sounds like we are missing something or on the bleeding edge.....
