Clomid whilst on TRT - Where is the logic?

I have received some calls lately where a lot of guys have been recommended to take Clomid during their TRT program. Obviously it is always recommended to do what your doctor says but lets ask ourselves if that makes sense.

We know that any type of testosterone suppresses the pituitary via the negative feedback loop. This slows the pituitary down so that it limits the output of LH and FSH. Basically cutting of the signals to the testicles, causing them to shrink and become insensitive to these signals. This is in essence shutdown.

Clomid is comprised of 2 isomers, it can act like an estrogen in some tissues and an anti-estrogen in some tissues. It mainly acts like an estrogen at the pituitary and this causes the increased output of FSH and LH.

As you can see it is obvious this is counter productive. Not to mention the emotional feelings some describe while on Clomid. The SERM is not strong enough to override the negative feedback loop or suppression from the exogenous testosterone. So basically you are taking a med that is not doing anything except causes estrogenic feelings.

Just my 2 cents
