Compounds, Isolations or Both?

Me personally have allways done abit of both, in honesty when i started lifting i didnt know the difference between the two. But recently iv read alot about compounds so for the next 8 weeks im gunna hit compounds only see how i go.

Your thoughts?

What do you prefer?

compounds compounds compounds. squat, pull and press. also oly lifts. only isos i do are curls and OCCASIONALLY tricep pushdowns, maybe once a month for the hell of it to really blast my triceps for hypertrophy reasons.
 
isolation exercises have their place. but for a true beginner i would stick strictly with compounds. even at an intermediate and advanced level i'd rather expend all my energy on compounds than saving some so i can blow my load and some sissy tricep kickbacks. i do retract my last statement though, i also hit calves. i guess you could call that an iso exercises, but i they are necessary for size.
