hypothetical situation, never happened:

occupant gets a call from the condo manager office saying that mgr signed for a pkg on occupants behalf and occupant should come over & pick it up. occupant uneasy because there was something odd about the guys word choice and his tone. not a natural word choice or tone for this person.

could be occupants imagination but it made him think of how mgr might sound if somebody had told mgr what to say and was standing there during call. this is how a cd works?

also mgrs job is to sign for pkgs so there is no reason for him to make a special call this time. over the years hundreds of things have come to the mgrs office to sign for and he never ever calls, occupants pkgs just sit for weeks until occupant happens to stop by and check for pkgs.

the call for no reason made occupant think "wtf"?!

guy who should know says there is no problem from looking at the the tracking numbers. t/a was fast. no letter.

does this story sound like what a "problem" sounds like, or does this sound like only paranoia? would you pick up or leave it sit?

Ok.......

lol @ sc

if they never called you, not a single time, for hundreds of packages in the past and this is the only time then there'd be red flags waiving in my head.

wait a few days and then pick up the package very early in the morning or very late in the evening with no phone call ahead of time to let said manager give anyone else any warning, less chance of any observers being there...take said package to a safe storage point and pick back up when needed, also...this conversation never took place and this message will self destruct in 5 seconds...

Call the manager back later, when no-one's there with him. Ask him why he called to inform you of the package. If he can't give you an immediate and acceptable answer, write it off as a loss.
But maybe you're just paranoid...the TA was ok, tracking was ok, no letter, and your comment that the managers voice was different...how do you know, he never called before. Perhaps the manager saw an express delivery, and thought you needed it quickly. It doesn't seem likely for law enforcement to make the delivery through the manager; they'd have to trust him not to inform you.

Not likely at all. you could just show up at his office at any time and pick it up right? LE cant sit there waiting for days on end for you to show up and get your goods. Clear out your apt of anything incriminating, clean your computer with evidence eliminator, and just go down there without calling and pick it up. Dont take it home either, take it somewhere safe. If its not there at the office when you get there, i.e. the carrier took the package back to the post office, write it off as a loss cause theyre probably on to you.

How much stuff is in the package? If it's not a lot you would have most likely gotten a customs seizure and a letter. If you ordered a shitload of gear let it sit.

are you taking a bunch of stimulants currently, or are you always this paranoid? just go pick it up; LE isn't going to get a third party involved unless the third party was also doing something illegal and trying to work for a plea bargain. unless you were ordering enough gear to have it shipped as freight, no LE agency is going to go to that much trouble.
