Critique on workout routine...

I have a three days on, two days off routine. And they fall on any day of the week.

Day 1 - Chest, Biceps, Abs
Day 2 - Tri's, Shoulders, Abs
Day 3 - Legs, back, forearms
Day 4 - off
Day 5 - off
Day 6 - Start routine again.

I'm trying to bulk up while attempting to lose fat, is this possible?

Thanks.

for me i think training heavy is the way to go. 5x5 routine works well for me. if your diet is right on track you can bulk up a little but its not easy to bulk up while on a cutting diet. but as you lose fat around the muscles you will naturally look bigger.

as for you training split give it a couple of weeks and see what happens.

good luck bro

5x5 is when you do 5 sets of 5 reps. if you search the training thread needsize has a post about it.

Your tris and shoulders get a workout on chest day so I'd put at least a day between your chest day and shoulder day. You could do legs on Day 2 and that will help.

Here is what I think.....

Day 1 - Chest, Biceps, Abs
Day 2 - off
Day 3 - Shoulders, triceps, Abs
Day 4 - Legs, calves
Day 5 - Back, forearms
Day 6 - off
Day 7 - start over

I like jyzza's routine except that if you get extreme soreness of fatigue you might find that your shoulder/tri day might be adversly affected from chest soreness. I would take at least 2-3 days between them.

I would also avoid training 3 days in a row.

Yeah, thx guys. I've been using that routine for two months with okay results. But I think I'm going to change to a one body part a week. I guess i do run the risk of overtraining with the old routine.

Day 1: Chest, Shoulders, Triceps
Day 2: Thighs, Calves, Abs
Day 3: Off
Day 4: Back, Biceps, Forearms, Abs
Day 5: Off
Resume

Based on the info given here I've structured my new workout.

Sunday - chest, biceps, abs

Monday - hamstrings, quads, glutes, calves

Tuesday - off

Wednesday - triceps, shoulders, abs

Thursday - upper/lower back, forearms

Friday - off

Saturday - off

Am I taking too many days off?

Thx
