can someone recommend a vid to pick up to show how to properly get a poly bench shirt on. i want to finally pick one up after christmas once i get back into shape.

ive talked to pb about this before , hes the video guro and i dont have a camera or the knowledge to put the video on the net . it will be a little complicated because theres different kinds of shirts and different tricks to putting them on , open back is a piece of cake and so is the new stretchy backed polys but a fully closed back poly or denim takes some technique and effort . until we can come up with a video if anyone has a question about a specific kind of shirt ask away and i will give you a step by step rundown here on the board for all to see and ask questions about .

Whats the reason for wearing a bench shirt? From what i've read it seems like it lets you put up more weight, isn't that kind of like using chains though?

if a poly fits correctly it takes at least 15 minutes to get it on. that would be a long as clip. thats why i havent posted it. it also takes a couple o brutes who knbw how to wear one to get it on ya.

jcp get an open back and save your self a lot of trouble. those damn closed backs choke the shit out of ya once you get them on anyway. very uncomforatable. open back denim slide on with ease. i put mine on myself.

you gonna need to find someone to show you how to use the thing too. you can get killed or ruined for life if you got inexperienced spoters as well. shirted benching is not a bench at all. go to seminar or find some PLers inyour area and ask for some help. i have been so fortunate that there were plers who inspired me and talked me into PLing. they showed me the way and still do.

PB the new closed back shirts with the stretchy material backs on them like the titan fury [ inzer makes some as well ]are almost as easy to put on as a open back and are legal in the feds that require closed back shirts , the backs are so stretchy that it doesnt even feel tight on the body just standing around between sets . as info the fury added a lot of pounds to my partners bench over a hd blast inzer and the fury is way under a 100 bucks .

Sometimes the places you shop will tell you the sweet spot of the shirt design as well.

MM has some seminars back east, I am going to see if I can get a local guy to help me first though.

yeah we had a usapl lifter train with us last spring and he had one of the furys. slipped on easlier but the arms still tough to get on. witht he denims the arms are suposed to be slightly loose. karin can make a single ply open back denim, canvas or poly.

MM put on seminars all over the country. you can schedule one your self and get some lifters to attend. they came here not too long ago. go to the web site and the info is on there. they dont make much money off of them but just enjoy seeing people hit big benches. great outfit, very unselfish.

bill won the cash at the last JP Mem bench and donated it to the family. he hit a 725 with a pulled hammy.
