Dea At Arnold Classic / Arnold Speaks Out!

In a speech at the convention that was met with a standing ovation on Sunday, Schwarzenegger told attendees that he believes the Food and Drug Administration should not regulate dietary supplements because "I have very rarely seen the government do anything that was effective."

Wow, we might actually get somewhere.

Too bad Jesse Ventura is out of poliltics.

I wish he would have said it differently though or just added that they are SAFE and have not been proven to be harmfull.

No politician is going to put their ass on the line to defend gear, or pro-hormones. That doesn't get votes. Gear, being good for you, bad for you, or somewhere in between, it doesn't matter what the politician thinks. The public already sees steriods as the same as hard drugs.

This is far beyond what we should have even expected from Arnold.

I am happy he said something yes. He has been rather quiet for one, and for another yes - being HONEST would be political suicide.

I do believe this may indeed turn into some huge issue. Arnold was right, however Golgo13 stated a good point. The public view steroids as hardcore drugs, which ignite roid rage, and all other side effects at once tenfold. . . You could probably convince an average American that a few cycles will make your dick fall off. The public doesn't know shit about safe use, they only know one thing; Steroids are Bad.

So i hope the public doesnt try to defame Arnold on this front. We'll see i guess.

I agree with Gologo, but I think if anyone has a chance to make an argument over this corrupted issue, it's Arnold.

-I still cannot understand why no one has pointed out that cigarettes and alcoholk kill more people in 5 minutes in this country than anything else sold. Corruption, corruption, corruption. Shame on this country. _GOD BLESS THE USA- I stand for what this country is about....and whats going on is a type of dictatorship to a *SMALL* degree. Thank God this is such a small thing comparitively speaking. Still, it's sad to see.

True. If anyone can impact this issue, it would be Arnold. All the voters who voted for him knew he is/was a steroid user. Why is he not bad, but everyone else is? If he condones it, then people would become upset, but he can at least try to debunk some myths, especially because he was so passionate about it and knows that he is the only one that can make such a dent.

Because it was "decades ago" and "if he knew then what he knew now he would not have done them" according to his spokesman.

Yep, but that's what he's got to do.

I was watching Conan the Detroyer the other day and couldn't get over how awesome Arnold looked in that flick. And we all know he stopped steroid usage after he went to hollywood... hahaha

I wouldn't necissarily assume he was on (i'm not saying he wasn't). But Arnold has a hell of a set of genetics. His arms are still probably (18"?) and he hasn't been able to train to failure because of his health problems. If anyone else knows any details about Arnold's usage I'd be greatful to hear it. As far as I'm aware, he did moderate cycles of Dbols - 6 on 6 off or something similar. Can anyone add to this?

Not according to him, he used only for a "few weeks before a hard competition."

As for his arms, he was in the 18s at his best on-stage form according to one author, he after all is NOT 6 foot 2 like the legends claim.

arnolds opinion

Ok so Arnold spoke out about the regulation of dietary supps.....so correct me if I'm wrong but hasn't California and 1 or 2 other states prohibited prohormones.........I know I read somewhere that California has at least......I know the feds are trying to get it nationwide.......but if Arnold is speaking up about how the gov. hasn't ever done anything effective......then why has california already regulated this supplement? If he were against it then wouldn't he be fighting against what has happened in California? just wondering about this......

Well that's not the impression that I got from his "Insights" on the Pumping Iron DVD.
