i have been reading about the 5x5 and am a little confused. different places say different things. do i do the same weight 5 reps five times? do i do that for all lifts even for bi's or lat pull downs ect.. im confused
when i do a 5x5 all my lifts are 20% less then my max but each week i will add just 5lbs to the lift till i get to my max. so long as i'm doing 5 sets 5x with out cheating. and i better fail on each of the last sets.
i do this for every lift i do. that is when i use the 5x5
yea but im reading only workout 3 times a weeks with squating three tmes a week and diff chest movements also. if i shoot twice a week is this still a good workout?
I do 5x5 on bench and nothing else.. basically lower reps gain strength more than higher reps.. i do 4-5 sets of 8 on other exercises such as DB bench DB Decline.. weighted dips etc.. doing that twice a week is sufficient... working out the same body part 3 times a week is nearly impossible unless you are on gear..
