i am just curious how long can it take for injection pain to go down before you start to think abscess. i have had pain in the injection spot and it has traveled to my lower back- tail bone. the pain has not gotten worse but still is the same just curious on how noticeable will it be and ways to find out early enough so you don't have to get drained and just take a anti biotic. i also have a old z pack a lil less then a year expired. do you think its trash or still effective for future references.

The Z pack is probably still good if it was stored in a cool environment. Less so if stored in the sun etc. Did you pin too close to your sciatic nerve?

I am currently running my first cycle so I can not attest to much of your inquiry. But I can say that site pain that is travelling does not sound good to me.

I recently had a possible bad injection OR a small infection as I had an injection swell up on me and I became ill. I am currently still monitoring this. But in my personal opinion, had i have had pain at the injection site that was travelling I would have been much more concerned. However, if you are not experiencing any swelling, sickness and the injection site is not hot, red or similar I would not think it is infected personally. Maybe you hit a nerve cluster?

Again, I am only on my first cycle and these are my opinions. I'm sure some of the great people here can shed more light on this that I can.

upper glute shot possibly but i have hit nerves before not that one but there was alot of tingles involved. this is just pain from my ass to my back ? - i had a back day the day after the shot and think it made the oil travel toward the area. it is just a bruise now been about 4 days just patiently waiting but dont want to wait to long. fig id ask about it. better safe then sorry

Have you hit your quads before? Or only glutes?

I was always hitting my glutes and it was just trouble for me. I did my first quad injection today actually and it was so much easier having full control over both hands and the site.

A bruise could mean blood below the surface. I had a bruise every time I hit my left glute from moving the needle around too much as I'm right handed.

I would just keep an eye on it and keep an eye on your overall health.

Sounds like you were injecting too high or too far to the inside. Anyone new to injecting or using a new site will sometimes experience PIP.

Signs of infection: swellin, pain, redness, redness that begins to streak, hot to touch, when you push on the area it will remain indented momentarily, fever, sweating or chills, puss, skin appears stretched or thin, radiating pain.

Keep an eye on it. If you have antibiotics and it doesn't get better within 1 week after inject you could start them but if you think it's serious go to after hours. I'm thinking it's just normal post injection pain that can happen when new or new site or you were in the wrong are for glutes. You want to be high and to the outside.

yeah im thinking i hit the wrong spot. so the pain in the bone area- is that normal for pip? also the pain has spread but for the last 32hrs its stopped right at the bone now the bone is sore has somthing like this ever happend to you?. thanx ua204 you pretty much told me what i wanted to hear. so by a weeks time if the site is still in pain or isnt getting any better u think i should take the anti biotic - unless there is def. signs of abscess? then go to docs.

Yeah injecting to high and too far to the inside on glutes could make you feel like their is pain in the bone or general area of tailbone.

I honestly think it's just the inject or you body is just responding to a needle being jabbed in and oil pushed into it. Keep an eye on things and it should slowly get better. I had one that seemed to get worse for the first couple days with a lot of swelling, pain, flu like symptoms, sweating, chills. But there was no infection and after a week it was fine.

I would say take ibuprofen as anti-inflammatory but not to often because it can reduce a fever and you want to know if you have one so maybe take 200-600mg once or twice a day. If the site begins to look worse then seek treatment. With the antibiotic it's up to you, I'm not a fan of taking them when not needed but I also wouldn't want an infection. So if it gets to the point where you think you need it, I would rarer go to the doc just to be safe. You don't need to tell them you injected just tell them
Your symptoms and if they are not looking at it from an infection stand point, then you could always say you injected some b12.
