Besides the fact that my eyes now hurt, I agree. That injection is way too low, and should be closer to the hip bone.

Is your GF pinning for you because you don't like needle or you have a hard time reaching around to pin the glutes? If its the later why don't you go with a much easier injection site such as quads, or even delts the odd time?
