do u guys hate it when little guys tell u to stop lifting heavy

When I used to go to a commercial gym we used to people watch in between sets and comment to ourselves on their form. Some of the shit I've seen in commercial gyms is scary. I saw a guy doing box squats on a gym bench with 405 and everytime he came down he would slam his ass into the bench...I would not want his spine later in life.

I run a gym that is sport specific (not lifting) and I'm pretty much the biggest guy their so when I see a young kid doing something wrong I explain to him why it's wrong and show him the right way. Now if he comes in the next week and goes back to doing it his way I won't waste my time on him. I spend most of my time telling the kid with the 10" arms and only slightly bigger legs to quit doing curls and focus on building his entire body with the big lifts....everyone wants to curl for the girls!

Other than that if the headphones are on and the hood is up...I'm busy!

when we are training we hate anybody to give us advise especially if they are smaller, fatter etc or don't look as good as you do. however it shouldn't matter that he is smaller. some of the best advise i have received was from solid bros who were not on my level visually but had tons of knowledge in other aspects of bodybuilding.( diet, training, nutrition, recouperation, injury protocols) tune out what you consider nonsense but always keep an open ear. don't take it personal. getting pissed off should result in a more intense workout. JMO.

It's quite simple...

Put a 'very' heavy weight on the bar and you lose the ability to contract the target muscle, therefore you will recruit other muscle groups to lift the weight.

Put a 'moderately' heavy weight on the bar, and focus 100% on contracting the target muscle and switching off secondary muscles, accompany that with consistently good nutrition, solid gear and highly intensive workouts - and there you have the recipe for optimal muscle growth.

Don't be like me - and learn the hard way - that heavy isn't always better!
