Do you deadlift?

Just wondering how many folks deadlift
regularly for reps? One of the best upper body
exercises imo, but few really want to go there.

bigherm doesn't deadlift he just puts pics of real men who do on his avi.

jk.

Do you guys deadlift on LEG day or BACK day or are you cool and have your own day deadicated to deadlifting?

I personally used to deadlift in the garage a lot. Very powerful compound movement that I want to start back doing.

Unfortunately, with crushed discs in my back, deadlifts of any serious weight seem to really mess me up, even with perfect form.

Such a necessary lift for mass gains. Been experimenting with DBs and I gotta say I like it.

Back for sure. I'd be lucky to deadlift 215 properly after my leg workout.

I used to deadlift religiously. Last year I stopped deadlifting. My bent over rows went from 135 on the barbel to 225, and my reverse grip pulldowns on the hammer machine are up to 145 per side (3 plates + 10lb plate each side). I can also do 10 muscle ups in a row. All of this at a lean 185 pounds without steroids for the last ~4 months. Once I get back on, I expect to bump my bent over rows potentially to 285. Oh, I do sets of 13-15 of those rows, too.

Let me just say that I will never, ever deadlift again. It did NOTHING for my physique, and I'm not a competitive powerlifter, so I really don't give a shit. I still do my heavy lifting, I just don't have any need for deads.

Hahaha, shit dood. Did you take some viagra to fuel that hate boner for deadlifts? At least you have figured out what works for you!
I love them for a few reason. I really like starting my workouts with a heavy compound exercise. Deadlifts fit the definition of that very well. Also they help strengthen my core like a mofo. Have helped me add size to my back specially works my traps even gives a wicked burn on my forearms. Wich is nice because im not into doing tons of isolation exercises for shit like forearms and traps so the more i can pre-exhaust them the happier i am. I have found they have even improved my posture and reduced back pain. Different strokes for different folks i guess.

I do Deads regularly to start my heavy Leg day early in the week. Legs are a lagging body part for me so I switched them to leg day 3 weeks ago. This week 425 x 5 on my last set (had to do a rest pause on this set between rep 4 and 5 - I was beat). That's the heaviest I've gone for reps in awhile so I'm content with that.

I deadlift every week. right now i'm doing a variation of the 5x5 workout so i have my own day for deadlifts but when i was doing a regular 4 or 5 day split i did deadlifts on back day.

I use to every week but it was tearing me up. I only do them once a month now and my whole body feels better. I don't think we are meant to be lifting like that constantly. My back was making me feel like an 80 year old man.

Side question: do you guys wear a belt while deadlifting?? I tried it several times and I cant. Feels like its choking me.

cant do cause of back injuries, but for guys how do deadlifts please dont slam the weights. that is the most annoying thing for the guy next to you who wants to concentrate in his workout.

Damn, hats off to you guys that start your back with deads...I do mine at the end of my back workout. I'm spent after deads.

It's kind of hard to be gentle with over 400lbs bro! Sorry but it's just part of being at a public gym.
