Do you just have to power through being hungry when cutting?

Just a question, when you are cutting and feeling really hungry, what do you guys do? Is it better to eat something (sign your body needs food) or to just wait it through to the next meal?

Thanks!

you will be hungry while cutting man!! you just have to power through it. some things that help for me are chewing gum or chugging lots of water!! good luck:)

carrots have calories!! as long as your tracking what your eating and making sure its fitting in your calorie mark you should be fine:)

Grrr thats what I suck at tracking the damn calories!

But yea I know Ill have too to be serious about it but right now I wanna be lax haha!

Guess Ill go buy me some celery!

Drink more water. The majority of the time you feel hungry you are actually thirsty. By the time you feel legitimately thirsty, you are technically dehydrated.

Great advice cpt! Thanks!

Use myfitnesspal to track macros and calories, drink lots of water to help with hunger and snack on low calorie vegetables if anything. Once your macros are calculated along with calories to cut you have to stick to them. If you eat and go over your cutting caloric level it will not be a cut anymore or a slower cut.

Protein is also the most satiating macro, you could eat more protein and cut carbs or fat to compensate

Just curious guys, but can someone help me breakdown percentages of macros that I should be eating for a cut.

Is it something like 40% protein, 40% fat, 20% carbs or am I way off?

Don't use percentages. What's your current stats, and TDEE?

So...this is where things are getting iffy. I just moved across the country a month ago and havent gotten a scale (my gym, for some reason, doesnt have one). Im 5'9", probably around 170lbs and I have no clue what my TDEE is. Every time I tried to figure it out I got bogged down with the formulas to actually get it. If anyone can point me to an easy site to figure this out I would be very greatfull!

negative caloric impact veggies would be best.. celery alone or lettuce alone comes to mine.. it takes your body more calories to burn it then the calories it gives.. makes you feel full and doesn't hurt you one bit...

TDEE Calculator

Your TDEE should be higher than that, what formula did you use? I would advise not to go under 2,000 cals unless prepping for a show. Been down that road and it's not fun man. Not worth feeling like that just to have a six pack or whatever you're trying to get to.

I took an average of all three.

I did the activity one and tried to do it accurately and it listed my tdee as 2900 so I threw it out. I can try for 2k calories and go from there.

Also I don't want a six pack but I want to have more definition in my arms haha!

What are your stats? Age, height, weight? 2900 is most likely a lot closer to what your actual TDEE is. Even 2,000 cals a day is rough man. It's very easy to consume that many calories. Are you doing cardio? You could always add more in, cut down your rest time between sets, do higher volume etc to burn off additional cals.

Yea I'm doing light cardio and when school starts I wanna start swimming again.

I can shoot for 2500 calories. That should suit me well.

I'll also go out and get a scale to track things with this weekend.

Thanks for the help!
