Do you think I can get my body back to normal??

Hi Everyone,

I have been working out for awhile now (pretty solid for year). My weight was almost 300 pounds about 10 years ago and I managed to come down to about 230 was my lowest. I am 28 years old and still working at it and just wanted to know if you think my chest and stomach will every get back to its original state? I got stretched out and it seems no matter what I do I can't seem to get this chest and belly off of my frame. I have considered using steroids to try and build the frame underneath. I actually have steroids but was trying to push my natural self to its limits and I know I am not there yet. I know there is no easy way to get where I want to be but I thought I would post some picks and see what you guys think. Although it is hard to see my chest and stomach are stretch out all over, I look good in a T-shirt but definitely shy away from rocking the shirtless bod.

Thanks for any input...I saw someone else posted about his same problem so I thought I would see what you guys think....

Stats:

6'7 255lbs
lift 3xs a week with trainer
on 2300-2500 calorie diet
cardio 3x's a week sometimes 5xs
BF% 11.5
waist 37

First, congratulations on the weight loss! Second, there's no way you're 6'7" at 255 with 11.5% body fat. I'm guessing you're closer to 20% still based on a little guide I found some time ago:

Please don't take this negatively as this is actually good news in that you still have some fat to lose before throwing in the towel and relying on AAS. With that said however, I am your height and am cutting down myself which is why I'm pretty sure that unless you have almost zero muscle mass, you can't be 11.5% body fat. I don't normally advocate AAS to those that still have room to grow naturally, but I do think that you should get blood work done as obesity can cause low testosterone (and vice-versa) - making it FAR harder (as was my case) to lose that fat and FAR harder to put on muscle mass.

If your testosterone comes back okay, and you are determined in cycling to potentially help you fill out your frame; then PLEASE read and understand the risks of AAS as they can and do cause permanent damage to your body, some of which can never be reversed. Also please note that AAS will not be a shortcut to gaining muscle mass, you're going to have to be that guy in the gym that everyone looks at because you're almost in tears every time you are about to end a set from the pain and physical exertion. I honestly think that if you spend another year working out, you can attain this goal naturally, opening new opportunities with a more anabolic body that could truly take advantage of AAS.

One other thing I would take a look at is your routine as well. After a year in the gym, it might be time to change-up what you're doing and shock your body into further growth of those muscles. There are far too many different routines for me to list and as you have a trainer, maybe you can suggest this to him. I would hope that he has some great suggestions for you as hitting a plateau can be truly discouraging.

I do wish you the best of luck and a preemptive congratulations on reaching your goal. ;)

My .02c :)

This ^^^. I don't have much to add but there is a guy on this forum (can't remember name) with a miami heat display pic that logged his journey for weight loss. It was inspiring stuff. Do I personally think you can get your frame back to normal? Absolutely. Don't do anabolics yet. Cultivate the base you want first. You can 100% completely transform your body is less than a years time, but you have to be committed and know what you're doing. If you are serious 3j would be a great place to start. I plan on seeking his services this summer.

Congratulations on your achievement, nothing is impossible if you put hard work, motivation and discipline on every thing you are doing. Losing weight may not be easy but at the same time not that difficult and impossible to achieve. Just be always optimistic and have a strong will.

Thanks for the input...I appreciate all advise...Gonna keep on pushing it and continuing the course...I have only been with the trainer 2 months and he does do a variety of exercises with me. I've also had a back injury that has held me back from being able to push 100%. Definitely have had better results in 2 months with him then years of going at it solo....

AGAIN THANKS!

Thanks...I am going to check out 3j diet forum...Encouraging to know I can hopefully get this back to normal...Put on weight after a sports injury and haven't been able to get right since...

Thanks AGAIN!

Agreed...I do get discouraged from time to time but it's then that I realize I have to stay the course and dig deep....One of my favorite quotes...

"There are some things in life that may come easy but most things worth having or achieving will only come with dedication and tenacity to get it."

Thanks!
