Doc wants to start me on testosterone replacement therapy (TRT) tomorrow. I'm 26 years old.

That's very hard to say, as I don't know what the root causes are for your issues. If they are indeed linked to low-T, then you should most certainly see a life-changing improvement. I know I did. :)

How low were your levels?

To be safe, deposit some sperm at the sperm bank once you have good numbers. Nothing wrong with a backup plan.

Make sure you discuss what Aromatase inhibitor (AI) you get if you need it. And make sure you will be checking your estradiol to see if you need an Aromatase inhibitor (AI). Testosterone aromatizes as your levels increase.

Thanks for the suggestion man. I'm defintely going to deposit some. It's pretty expensive and insurance doesn't cover it but I'm going to store at least enough for a few vials. The fertility doc was pretty much positive that I could always regain fertility even if I lost it completely. I had a semen analysis today and will be getting further word from the doc on Wednesday.

Ok guys got an update and I hope you all can point me in a good direction...

Had a sperm analysis and it was very good 110 million.
Got some labs done on my free and total test
Free was 13.7 (9.8-26.5)
Total was 588 (341-1100)

I have a script for Human Chorionic Gonadotropin (HCG) and test cup but don't know what to do. I still don't feel very well but I'd hate to just screw things up when not necessary. I wish my free t numbers were higher bc I'm only 26. The sperm doc said I'd always be able to recover my sperm count especially with how good mine was.

What do you all think?

I had an appointment yesterday with a reproductive endocrinologist and it was probably one of my best appointments I've had. This guy didn't seem to want to let me get out of his office even after 1.5 hrs bc we were discussing what might be going on and what we should/will do. This is what was decided. The thing that scares me about testosterone replacement therapy (TRT) is fertility especially since I've got a serious GF and things are heading that way. He said that we would do a sperm analysis to see where my sperm count is and that would indicative of how my testicles are functioning bc low FSH isn't always a sign of a low sperm count. He said if my sperm count is low then we would initiate HCG therapy. If everything checks out ok and my sperm count is normal, he said I could go on the test cyp and as long as HCG is implemented alongside, fertility down the road would be ok. He said it's just like women's birth control. That if you were once fertile you will always return to your normal state and if not HCG and other protocols will make you. He said he's had cases of guys with zero sperm and getting them fertile again. Also, he said if I go on the cypionate, that we could do sperm test every now and then to keep up on my fertility.

This sounded like a good plan to me. What do you make of all this?

Dang, you're super lucky to find a doc so open & willing to work with you. The endo's around here seem to only specialize in diabetes and the MD's won't even listen to talk of T treatment because of how rampant the pill poppers are in this town. Got a scratch? Here, take this pill. Stubbed your toe? Ok, oxy it is. Terrible!

I would still learn towards halfwit's original idea of trying clomid again but on a more long-term basis (unless there's some issue with it that I missed?). That's still a decent amount of total test to be shutting down just for more free.
Check out this study--free test averaged quite the increase (2-5x as much) on clomid only, and the checkup after a couple years showed that they were in perfect health. >>> Study shows clomiphene is suitable for hormone therapy

Thanks for your reply man. The only thing about clomid is that I'm afraid of it making me feel worse because I've been dealing with depression and all that crap. They have me on a mood stabilizer right now but I'm wondering if I've felt so bad bc of my free test. Also wouldn't the clomid tinker with my e2 and that would be bad. My sex drive and erections have just sucked. However with my free test in range and low normal, I don't know if that's enough evidence. I've been so frustrated I've been about to just run a low dose cycle and see if that helps. Really not gonna do that but the frustratiom makes me wonder.

588 Total T is a good natty number. I wouldn't do testosterone replacement therapy (TRT) with natty like that. You're fine in the T department. I don't think that is the cause of your problems.

Yeah I'm kinda with you there man. Would you just avoid the testosterone replacement therapy (TRT) in my situation?

No doubt about it. You do not need or want testosterone replacement therapy (TRT). You're fine in the T department. Good news is that you now have a good baseline measure for future reference.

I'd try other approaches to feel better first... those are not bad numbers. That's right about twice my TT when I went on testosterone replacement therapy (TRT) and I still have second thoughts about it (at age 49).

Hmm, 26 on testosterone replacement therapy (TRT)? I'm 24 and on testosterone replacement therapy (TRT) :/ My Test was 290 something. Now at 850ish... Is it bad I'm on testosterone replacement therapy (TRT) and I'm only 24.
