Does cardio type matter?

Nope

This is probably a really over asked question, sorry

Does it matter what type of cardio I do?

I really like doing the bike, and I sweat more on the bike than eliptical. I do 30min at 135 heart rate on each. So I'd really like to continue just doing bike, but is running or eliptical better since you're moving your upper body too?

Um,

I thought HIIT cardio was better for fat loss while maintaining muscle?

Doesn't HIIT cardio burn fat for hours afterward, using muscle glycogen at the time, and then restocking the stores for hours after?

Doesn't low to moderate intensity cardio burn fat only while you are doing it?

for HIIT cardio, should I do 30 second intervals, or 1 minute intervals?

Also, for how long should I do this? I see everywhere is saying 18 min max. But I do 30min regular cardio...should I knock it down to 18min for HIIT or keep it at 30min? Keep in mind I will be doing it for a cutting cycle, so I would like to do 30min if thats possible

If you can do High intensity cardio for 30 minutes, then my hat is off to you my friend.

The shorter the cardio session, the more intense it needs to be.

I like to change up my routine a little bit every other week or so. Soemtimes every other day I change it.

Here's what I am doing right now:

Level 5 intensity 1 min
Level 9 intensity 30 seconds
Level 10 intensity 30 seconds
Level 5 intensity 1 min
etc
etc
etc

I do that for 17 minutes and then I am done. If you are doing it properly, you should be pretty dead after that.

Sometimes i go back to doing full minutes all around, like:

1 min level 5
1 min level 8
1 min level 9
1 min level 5
30 sec level 10
30 sec level 8
1 min level 5

etc Just keep changing it around, doesn't matter exactly how you do it as longas you add resistance or speed up periodically. Don't let your body adjust to the speed or resistance for very long.
