Doing a half marathon whilst on Test E, TRT or Test C

Does anyone have any experience of this?

I am planning on doing my first cycle soon, mid way through I have a half marathon scheduled.

As I am a freerunner I will generally be doing a lot of cardio throughout my cycle although that may be more drills based and stop start.

Are the pumps and possibly palpitations a problem on a test cycle or is it not really something you notice?

I don t know you...but with a test cycle come s some water retention..even with ai s as THATS HOW THEY WORK...so as a gen rule 99 percent of AAS I m familiar w are not conducive to bettering ones aerobic capacity but if your fit anyway you should be OK.... I hate answering so lamely but...

It all comes down to this.... why are you taking Testosterone?

If you are on TRT, and taking a low dose to enable you to function sexually and feel your old self - then running a marathon will give you zero issues.

However, if you are running a cycle at a dose of 500mg or higher per week, I am going to be presumptious and guess that you are doing this for muscle gain.

If this IS the case, running a marathon is the wrong thing to do. I would finish your cycle, recover properly, aim to keep your gains. And then if a marathon is still high on your list of priorities, then do so.

But, endurance activity of any sort will severely tap into your muscle mass, and if you are doing the right thing and putting a great many miles in as preparation, then this will massively hinder any sort of muscle gain.

I respectfully suggest you work out what your priorities in life are, and structure your cycles, diet and training to give you the best possible outcome.

Otherwise, it's just money down the WC!

Thanks for your input.

I am doing the cycle to gain muscle mass as I have difficulties gaining muscle because of my usual exercise routine.

The half marathon is just a single day charity event that I have been committed to.

It's only one day and won't require any additional training, I'm not bothered about my time.

I don't imagine the single day half marathon will make much difference to my gains from my overall cycle.

If your doing an excess amount of cardio, gaining muscle mass would be very difficult. Plus having more muscle mass would make doing excess cardio more difficult. They both don't go hand in hand. You either gain muscle mass or do tons of cardio training. Your calories would have to be way up there too if you're trying to attempt both...

The majority of my cardio will be practising technique. If I don't practise the free running technique that I need to, I won't get booked for a job.

Athletes in other sports have benefited from low dose test for mild gains and recovery.

Brian Bowles likely weighed 150 pounds at 5' 7" when he competed yet he used low dose test:

Lance Armstrong ran Test along with a ton of other stuff when he competed... Im guessing his estrogen management was on point though.
