Earning muscle tie-ins

The lats spread out like wings from the top all the way down to just above your hip. Is there recognised training for those particular lower parts of your lats? I watched a show (body building) a short while ago and noticed in one particular lineup there was one guy with a good "tied in" look which gave an overall complete look. There were other guys with bigger wider lats but didnt have the same type of tie in at the bottom regardless of their condition being tight and dry. The guy came first in he's category and in the overalls.
He's been around for years as a competitor (15 years) so is this why he has such good tie-in's? I have relatively good genetics and would like to go onstage with good tie-ins, not because it could be what the judges want, but because its what I want. Elaborate help would be kindly appreciated.

Regards

I believe most of the tie-ins are related to your genetic disposition of the muscle attachments throughout your body. For instance, I have an approximate 2 inch gap between my cubital foss, front of elbow, and the distal portion of my biceps whether at rest or contracted. I don't believe this can be changed, however with increased muscle mass in my biceps I have noticed that the gap looks less noticeable. Keep training and filling out that frame.
