Egg Whites and Egg Yolks

i notice lots of people are eating lots of whties and less yolks....is that beacuse most of the cholesterol is in the yolk? i think ther eis more protein in the yolk also right? anyway- what the FUCK are you doing with all those extra yolks you dont eat? lolz... my trash can is filling up with little yellow yolk balls!! is there a decent egg white in a carton instead of wasting half my eggs?

egg yolks are FULL of essential nutrients!! eating 1-2 /day is not going overboard. studies now have proven that dietary cholesterol has no effects on blood cholesterol in our bodies. and considering that out of 5g fat in one yolk, only 1.5g of that is saturated.
you can also buy pasturized egg whites in cartons as well to beat seperating so many.

I normally add one whole egg(yolk included) in with a carton of egg whites every morning for breakfast.

powdered egg whites? no thanks! lolz... no offence...
ive never seen the egg white cartons... ill have to keep an eye out... thanks!

Just look in the egg section of your grocery store. I'm sure you'll find the cartons of egg whites.:)

the yellow is basically useless for you, if you prefer go out and buy egg white powder instead of wasting your eggs.

Absolutely not true, yolks contain a number of EFAs. Oh, just saw that Atherjen responded to this. Anyhow, I throw in one yolk for every 6 eggs I prepare. As for discarded yolks, send 'em down the drain and hit the garbage disposal.

When I scamble or fry my eggs I leave 1 or 2 yoks in with 4 to 6 whites just for the flavor. The other yokes with shells go down the disposal in the sink.

When I hard boil my eggs for my tuna mix the yoke balls and shell again go down the disposal.

And as a rule of thumb, no matter how many times I see Rocky, I will NEVER drink down raw eggs.

egg beaters? very easy to cook, dunno what the exact ingrediants are tho, assuming theyre only white, with the flavor of yolk, but nonetheless, very healthy, with NO fat - as far as i know.

Throwing away the yolks is downright wasteful, If you are working out with any intensity your body can handle the fat from the yolks, besides, that is where all the flavor is and most of the nutrients including protein are in the yolk.

just bought a carton of egg whites... ingredients 100% egg whites... lol... 25cals per serving, 5g protein per serving... 10 servings per carton... doesnt fill me up quite the same as 7 or 8 egg whites, but still gives the protein!

Some health tidbits. I dont care what anyone says I will eat my eggs. Well the ones that I buy!

What do eggs have in them? The whites contain niacin, riboflavin, chlorine, magnesium, potassium, sodium and sulfur.

The yolks With the exception of riboflavin and niacin, the yolk contains a higher proportion of the egg's vitamins than the white. All of the egg's vitamins A, D and E are in the yolk. Egg yolks are one of the few foods naturally containing vitamin D.

Eggs also contain LECITHIN, Calcium, thiamin, folic acid and some good fats.

The yolk also contains more phosphorus, manganese, iron, iodine, copper, and calcium than the white, and it contains all of the zinc. The yolk of a Large egg contains about 59 calories.
