Eggs

Just wondering what everyones thoughts were on eating whole eggs versus eating just egg whites or mostly egg whites. I have heard so many mixed opinions on this whole cholesterol issue that I don't know what to believe anymore. Let me know what you ology users think!

i personally eat 1-3 whole eggs every morning without thinking twice about it.. the rest are egg whites..

eggs are good for you...

the best way to eat whole eggs if your worried about cholesterol is sunny side up... the uncooked yoke is better then the cooked one in that context

How many eggs would you consider too many in one day considering cholesterol issues. Or do you think the cholesterol thing is just a big myth? I eat six whole eggs a day. And what about whole milk vs. skim milk?

im currently eating 2 x hard boiled egg whites only every morning. im trying to loose fat, but im not 'fat' per se, rather bit muscular but with some obvious visible fats that i need to get rid off.
So should i also switch to whole egg instead of whites only?

I think 6 whole eggs is too many, I eat about 5 or 6 whites and 2 whole eggs every day. My LDL is always below normal and my HDL is always above.

Genetics also plays a large factor in your cholesterol too. Some people eat high trans/saturated fats and have no cholesterol issues.

I eat 4 whole eggs everyday. There is too much good in the yolk to just discard. Just don't Rocky style them as the clear portion or cytoplasm is better absorbed heated from what I've read. I switched to cage free also. EggLands Best which is 25% less saturated fat then most eggs. There's plenty of good brands.

Cholesterol issues are gentic... if your not a lazy and have them.

Over the years I have consumed 12 whole eggs in a setting and a gallon of milk a day. no issues

Eat as many as you need. I perfer to eat the whole egg always! I love them yokes.

cooked too...the protein in them binds biotin...at least that's what they said in my med school class, it was a board question...anyway, I just drink 5 raw eggs in morning

hmm.. most interesting

Egg whites contain high levels of avidin, a protein that binds biotin strongly. When cooked, avidin is partially denatured and becomes somewhat non-toxic. A recent study[1] found that activity in fried, poached and boiled (2 min) egg white was 33, 71 and 40% of the activity in raw egg white respectively.

Just a recent research showed that yolk are as good as whites....
Eating them would cause nothing...
But I prefer 1 whole with 4 whites...
