I'm looking into purchasing one of these mainly for quick workout around the house. Is anyone familiar with them or tried one out? Really haven't heard much about them since Bruce Lee familiarized them. Mainly I'm wondering do they work for the money their worth. Any input is always greatly appreciated.

I used one before. It's basically like walking around flexing your abs in intervals. Beneficial ? Eh maybe a little.

I bought one a few years ago to help rehab a neck injury and when I wasn't using it on my neck I would use it on my forearms and absbut I didn't notice any difference in either. they are very cheap on Amazon.com and are a ton of fun if u take them to work and get random people to hook them to their face and other various parts of the body. So are they worth the money? yes they are if your using them for humor but for anything else no I don't think so.

What really made me interested I was watching the Bruce Lee story and we all know Bruce was pretty lean and cut

well theres no way that an EMS is gonna give you near the results that hard work and diet will but if your that interested buy one on Amazon they are only $50.

I really don't want to buy one if its not going to yield any good results. I don't want life changing results but besides regular workouts I do want the ems to hold its weight

All manufacturers had a huge class action lawsuit filed by us supreme court and had to refund any money for purchases if the box or company advertised it could inhance muscle or aid in fatloss. They are only proven to aid in rehab of injuries. I got refunded for one I purchased.

Portable Dual Channel TENS Unit Kit or EMS is for Therapy, not for grow at home muscle kit.

It's used for muscle therapy without the load bearing weights or the range of motion inflammation, but you want to simulate the injury as to recover by forcing red blood cells into the area.

I used it Twice..One for hamstring and the other for the back.Sometimes the tear of injury is too deep to rub so the EMS works very well. When a swimming pool or a hot tub is not convenient, then the EMS works.
I'm surprised it's Cheap because I got one for $45 at Amazon.

If you can't do 200 push-ups, then you can't buy a machine that has the effect of 200 pushups. And if you CAN do 200 pushups, and you used such a machine, it would feel the same as doing 200 pushups. You'd be just as sore and out of breath. You can't buy anything that lets you work out sitting down, and not getting tired. You already HAVE a device that causes your muscles to contract. It's called a brain.
Actually, they DO have uses. Just try this: Put one on and crank it to maximum. In between pulses, tense your abs as hard as you possibly can. When the machine pulses, you can feel muscles contracting that weren't before, even though you were trying to contract your entire core.
I think they have some use for finishing off after core exercises, post workout. I think there are some muscles deep in there that the brain doesn't really have much conscious control over.
But the people who buy them because they think the machine does the work...if it worked as much as crunches, it would FEEL like doing crunches. If you're not breathing harder, you're not working harder.

I have one at home. My finger extensor muscles were paralyzed for a while after arm surgery a year and a half ago. Electrical stimulatiom was the only way to keep those muscles active while the nerve damage was healing.

I don't see any use for these machines if you're healthy and able to lift normally.

Not bad device. I think the Compex Edge Muscle Stimulator Kit best choos. He coasts around 200$ and work very well for this price. I saw few of them from 60$ but i think they are useless

youre talking about a tens unit.. i use it for injury not for "muscle stimulation"

for example, i have torn cartilage from a dislocated rib injury i suffered a few weeks ago.. i put the tens unit on the injury and let it run.. the stimulation increases blood flow and promotes healing

My mom used to have those when i was younger, felt pretty good as massage but didn't really do much, at least not that I can remember.

It totally depends on the unit you buy . I have one somewhere or my brothers have mine it is top in the line and it doesnt make a difference if you can handle it on full strength. It builds crazy abs but its not fun at all. Couldnt stand it on any other muscle group. It was like getting tazed

I have a TENS and an EMS, but was given them by my Physical Therapist.
To help with some Nerve Damage from an Old Back Surgery.

Can't imagine walking around with either one on Full Power.
Unless you are into S & M (lol)........................................ JP
