is it 3 years old or 3 years past the expiry date?
i would be a little hesitant to eat it, as its cheap anyway

if it's in a sealed air tight blister pack it should be ok

Its fine. Expiration dates are mostly there to get you to throw away good medicine and buy new stuff. At worst, it may have lost a little of its potency, but I doubt it.
