Yes is good for all men, or tho dutiseride is its new and improved brother...I use both and my hair has gone from a norwood 1 or 2 back to a Norwood 0 :D Just see my avatar for results :D Of course hairloss is different for everyone and what works for me may not work aswel for u...but will it help ??? then the answer is yes it will help but to what degree who knows!

good luck

Just a few questions if I may.

First off, are you using the recommended 1mg for finasteride and .5mg for dutasteride?

Have you suffered any adverse side effects? I used fin for over two years but ceased use just over a year ago due to lowered libido and a mental fog I always seemed to be in while using it. It did pretty much halt my hairloss, but I just couldn't deal with the sides any longer.

I'm actually going to begin using dutasteride (hoping and praying I suffer little to no sides) as my hair has definitely thinned since stopping the fin. I'm going to begin at a lower dosage (.5mg every Mon, Wed, Fri).

I've actually seen graphs whereby on paper .1 mg of dutasteride is as effective as 1mg of finasteride. Theoretically, one dut every 5 days should be as effective as taking one propecia every day, so I should be OK with the Mon-Wed-Fri approach. Atleast I hope so...

1mg of finasteride is usually enough for most people i personally take 5mg(while on cycle). I would say anything over a gram a week of test and finasteride just aint gonna work at 500mg of test 5mg dose the trick if i up the dose of test to 750-1000mg a week then i still notice hairloss (this is just my personal experience though) To the best of my knowledge dutasteride needs to be taken i higher doses for hairloss and therefore works out very expensive

which one is better for the infamous receeding hair line, not so much prevention but regrowth? or is that search futile.

Nah bro, it wasn't just in my head. I definitely had problems with critical thinking, concentration, and focus while on it. From perusing the hairloss discussion boards, I've realized others have suffered from the same side effect.

But you're right, everyone reacts differently to different drugs. I'm glad your regimen is working for you.

Your best bet at growing back a receded hairline would probably be propecia combined with a regrowth stimulator such as minoxidil. Don't expect too much, however. I've found it to be extremely difficult to grow back lost temple hair (luckily I haven't receded too much). The best you can really hope for with today's array of hairloss prevention drugs is to slow down/possibly halt any further loss.

If you want those temples back, the best option would be a good transplant specialist...

yea mines starting to receed a bit, in the family.

I actually know a kid that was almost totally bald by 23. Went to a hair doc and had a transplant for like 3-4k and a few months later has a head of hair like a chia pet. Maybe I'll just bide my time till I have the money for that and when it gets bad.

minoxidil and proscar combined will eventually grow back some to the lost hair but it will take months, consistency is the key and if you keep taking it and using it you will notice results

Sorry for the vague question bros. But Im not on Anabolic Androgenic Steroids (AAS) but was thinking about taking finasteride to prevent any natural disasters... I have a full head of hair now but I was wondering if I wanted to take it could I, and at what dose? what about girls?

www.hairlosstalk.com go there for these questions. go to the forums. great site. dut is suppose to work better, but it probably has more sides. I would be careful from fin and dut...i was taking 1 mg of fin a day and after about a year I noticed my nips always remained puffy and then i got slight gyno from it so i reduced to 1mg every other day cuz i heard .5 mg is like 86 percent effective with way less sides.

Simply do not take anything that convert to DHT easily if your maternal grandfather is/was bold. Your hair gene is on the 23 hex of DNA. If you inhibit Test to DHT conversions were is your gain going to come from?

LoL yeah I feel bad for the chaps who have gotten butchered by incompetent hair transplant surgeons. I've seen some REALLY BAD transplants (old plug style). I'm not surprised your friend got butchered, as 3-4K is really a small figure for a transplant. Nowadays a decent transplant would require you to drop about 10K, maybe more depending upon your level of hairloss.

The good news is that there are some very skillful surgeons. You just have to RESEARCH. I would stay away from the hair factories you see advertised on television such as Bosley, MHR, Hair Club, etc. Just because they're the most recognizable, doesn't mean they're the best (in fact you hear a lot of complaints about the aforementioned companies).

Hopefully, hair multiplication will come to be and we can all put our hairloss worries to rest.

Just because a steroid does not convert to DHT (i.e. a steroid other than test) doesn't mean it can't cause hairloss. If you suffer from MPB and were to take hefty doses of Anadrol (which doesn't convert to DHT) I can almost guarantee you'll lose some hair.

As far as the maternal grandfather genetic factor, that's just an old wives tale. Plenty of men who have maternal grandfathers with full heads of hair have suffered from MPB and vice versa.

I know a bodybuilder who takes 5mg finasteride per day while running heavy test cycles, and I highly doubt he's suffered diminished gains. He's one big mofo.
