First bloodwork done. Will I qualify for TRT?

Whats up folks just joined the site, good to see theres somewhere to discuss these issues. For the most part of my adult life I've felt kind of "off" and recently have realized that a lot of my symptoms and problems could be the result of low T. Things like depression, anxiety, low confidence, weakness, tiredness, poor endurance, brain fog, low motivation, poor muscle gains, etc. I got some blood work done recently and I was hoping you guys could help me analyze my results. Im 28 years old, 175 lbs roughly 20% percent body fat.

Im sure theres many more factors to consider but this is what I have so far:

Total Testosterone: 21.7 nmol/L Reference range: 8.4-28.8 nmol/L
Free Testosterone: 31.1 pmol/L :noway: Reference range 31-94 pmol/L
Ferritin 85 ug/L Reference range 22-322 ug/L

I did thyroid blood work too but I don't have the results with me, but according to the doctor my levels were "normal". I have an appointment with an Endo I just want to feel good again so I can stop feeling so down and get my life back. Any input would be greatly appreciated

Free test is low. Total test is pretty good. Not sure why free test is so low. You won't get trt with total test like that. They need to figure out why your free is so low. If more t was free you would feel better

Your total Test is over 600 ng/dl which is what most of the guys on here use for units of measure

I had all these ill feelings you had and I had same T as you...
you know what the problem was:
"Highly Severe Sleep Apnea"
Get your lazy GP to send you in for a sleep study. What time did u go for these labs?
do you workout ? take in enough zinc, vit e e.t.c. ?
There's no TRT for you at 625 ng/dl TT
Get Bio Avail. T done as well....

Unless I am missing something you are no where near low T

My main concern was the low free T since its at the bottom of the reference range and from what I've read these ranges are not age specific. Since Im at the bottom I assumed my free T could be comparable to that of an old man :dunno:

Ok makes sense. Hopefully they will look into that for me. Thanks

Oh ok that makes a lot more sense now. Wasn't sure how to convert it to those units but I guess its not too bad than from what I've researched. Much appreciated

Interesting I'll have to look into that. I got the blood drawn around 2 pm. I know later is less accurate which likely means my levels were even higher in the am right? I workout about 4 times a week, eat well, and have been taking zma as of recently. I think it may be a lifestyle thing thats causing a lot of these symptoms as I am currently unemployed and have poor sleeping habits. (sleep around 2-3 am and wake up around 10) I like to think a few lifestyle changes will help get the free T up but what do I know lol

Been there and had the exact same sleep problems and feelings.
2 PM ?
C'mon bro!!!
a little late for testing your best hormones don't you think ? lol
Go in first thing in the morning and do these labs after a restful nights sleep of 7-8 hours...
no alarm clocks to wake up ok ?
Get this lab done before 8:45 AM at latest.
Pretty sure you are going to get turned down for TRT from the endo.
The GP that referred u should have known this was not "low T"
And be careful what Anti-D's u might be pushed to hope on in order treat these symptoms...
SSRI's e.t.c. will make you hypogonadal as time goes on.
I've seen it in too many guys.

lol I probably subconsciously wanted them to be lower to prove to myself I wasn't feeling like this for no reason and to at least have the option to do TRT, feel better, and make the gains that I've always wanted.
Why no alarm clock? I guess it could effect your levels?
I have taken sari's twice in the past for a couple months at a time. Stopped abruptly both times and had some terrible withdrawals both times. You would think I would've learned my lesson the first time lol
I wonder if that had any effect on my levels? Im also taking st johns wort now which is helping but could it have similar side effects?

what SSRI were u on ?
how much st. johns wort u on now ?
not too sure...
I heard the good quality 5HTP is a good alternative to SSRI's....remember SSRI'S are drugs
Not an issue with alarm clock.,...but in this modern life we are losing our natural deep sleep patterns that release many important processes in the body like T levels e.t.c.
I wouldn't want to cut my REM sleep short if I'm looking for optimum well being.
there could be a time recorded on the lab u did as well and the endo wills see you went late. Either way it doesn't help your case for TRT....lol

The SSRI was called cipralex. I regret taking it now but back than I would research things before taking them the way I do now. Hopefully didn't mess me up too much...
is St. Johns wort an SSRI? I take 3 450 mg capsules a day which is what the bottle recommends.
Yea I really feel like switching my sleep to a more natural pattern would help me greatly. When I was working and waking up early on a regular schedule I wouldn't have some of the issues I have now with low libido, no morning erections, etc.
As for TRT I've given up on that for now lol. Just gonna take a natural test booster to get my levels up while trying to figure out why my free T is low. Or would that be counterproductive considering it could skew test results?

natural test boosters don't work....don't waste your money my friend!!!
Get your LH, FSH, Prolactin tested so you know what your pituitary function is like....as well as the BIO Avail T...
Test Estradiol too
Repeat the other tests you've done after you have your body going back to sleep at regular normal times.
off course waking up at 10 and going to sleep at 3 AM is going to make you feel like shit.......
Take 50 mg Zinc picolinate ED, 400 i.u. of Complete high quality Vit. E, adequate Vit D levels are needed for higher T levels. I was at 77 nmol/l and supplemented with 10 grand Vit D a day for months and it went to 164 nmol/l so that is good!!!
other than that....get sleep study done bro.

what if you could do it by staying on EOD HCG or clomid would u ?
or would u trade in for the "jabs" to get to a 1000 + ?

Lol apollon..
I'm at 462 ng/ dl , and I'm 38.
I'm not a trt patient , but I ll stick to clomid / hcg if I ll hit the 600 .
Yes that would be my choice.

LOL, the urologist I dumped last month had me on 2 months of 50mg Clomid EOD and my levels went upto 410 first lab, 396 second lab and he told me "your cured". I'm 39/205lbs FWIW. Justlaughed and said yeah, if I was 70yrs old that'd be great, but I'm almost half that age and still feel no better now at your cured level than I did when I first got referred here.

Now with a thus far, excellent Endo and told her the story and she was floored. Only downside since I'm doing this legit to get insurance to cover it, I'm a fucking pin cushion doing blood tests, infusions to pinpoint cause of Low T (originally tested 179 in Sept and 210 early October of 2013). Got one more infusion tomorrow a.m. and an MRI Monday morning and she said that should be all the testing we need to get insurance approval and start moving forward with a treatment...gawd I hope so:( Sucks seeing the light at the end of the tunnel and not being able to just run right to it...but doing TRT for $4 every couple months compared to typical out of pocket expense...I'm giving this a good try first.
