First Pin - WTF Did I Do!?

Hi everyone

I'm quite pissed off with myself at the moment because I think I may have potentially ruined one of my vials of test cyp.

So I set everything up in front of me for my first every injection on myself. I felt fine setting up but the moment I had the syringe in my hand to draw the test I started shaking a bit lol.

So I first I pulled back the plunger the get some air in there, then I pierced the top of the vial, pushed the air into the vial then turned it all upside down the draw the test.

I began pulling back on the plunger the draw the test but I noticed that by the time I pulled back to the 2ml mark, the syringe wasn't full of test. Only about half and the rest was just open with air.

Being a somewhat paranoid noob I thought that if I shrugged it off as normal and pinned myself with that I would get an air bubble and die. So in a split second decision I pushed the test BACK INTO THE VIAL!! Now the liquid looks all bubbly inside the vial.

Did I just fuck up? Is it safe to use that vial again or am I going to have to get another?

Also, WTF happened when I drew the test!? DO I have to go much slower next time or what? The syringe will definitely be FULL of test right?

Ai Aromatase inhibitor (AI) ai... such a fool. Hopefully I don't lose my balls and trip out next time.

Your fine, it happens often. Just go slow next time and try to push any air back into the bottle. Make sure to switch needles. Are you drawing and pinning with the same size needle? If so what size? I draw with a 23 and pin with a 25.

you didnt ruin your test, dont panic you are fine,if this happens again, just push the excess air back in the vial up to the amount of test you have already pulled out and re start pulling it out again, then thump all the air bubbles out of it,they will all eventually come to the top of the syringe, make sure all the air pockets and bubbles have settled, just thump it and wait several mintues and all that will be clear,it happens to me alot to,so dont sweat it man

Hi, I don't think u messed up the vial I think u probably though that u pushed all the air in but u didn't so when u were drawin it didn't pull Like u were suppose to. I think just start over , take ur time and flick the bubbles on the top.
What syringe size are u using to draw and pin?

brother every one get nervous their first time,i would use either a 20 gauge or 21 gauge to pull out with and a 23gauge or 25 gauge to pin with.....with the 20 or 21 gauge needlesthe test will draw out fast and most of the time you wont have the problem you are talking about, but pinning with like a 25g it goes in slower,so just be patient and pin slowly, thise are really small needles and you can hardly feel them, they dont hurt, but it takes a while for you to press all the test in,just be slow and patient, stick your syringe in and make sure and aspirate(pull back on the syringe and make sure no blood comes back through the needle) then pin slowly

Thank you for the replies!!

After reading them I went back to give it another shot and everything went smooth.

I think the first time I had pulled back on the plunger too fast. This time I didn't even touch it. It just gradually went down and I stopped it at 2ml.

Its 3ml syringe with 23g needles BTW. One more question though. I tried to aspirate to see if I hit a vein but I only pulled back a tiny bit. I saw no blood so went ahead with the injection. When I pulled the needle out a little bit of blood came from the site and after packing everything up and throwing shit away I looked down and there was a bit more. Is that normal?

I've never gotten an intramuscular injection before or at least none that I remember so I don't know if that is normal or not. I'm sure that if I injected test into a vein I would feel something strange shortly after?

Ur good bro u did the right steps, if u would have hit a vein u would have seen blood in the syringe when u aspirated .

take a thumb tack and poke your self u will see a bit of blood! When aspirating do not pull back to much! takes very little to be honest! u don't wana see blood when u do that! if u do pull out pin another spot!

you'll nick veins here or there and cause some blood to come out. don't stress it. sometimes you'll nick or go through a big one near the surface, and you'll spur when you pull it out. doing z-track can help eliminate that chance but anyway, bottom line don't stress it.
