I used to put flaxseed oil in my shakes. I think you should just stick with the liquid since it's easier to gulp down anyways instead of eating seed by seed.
I like to sprinkle a couple of teaspoons of flax seed in my egg's in the morning. It's easy and you can barely taste it. I also keep the oil on hand and put a teaspoon in an evening shake or just after dinner. It tastes like shit but oh well great omega-3.
