Flexibility and muscle mass??

Just a quick question about whether or not increased flexibility can/will increase the amount of muscle mass you have?

Im not talking about extreme stretching between sets, but just doing regular stretching techniques and pilates.

I know flexibility is very important in bodybuilding so as not to become stiff, i do seem though to be quite stiff in certain muscles and my flexibility could be alot better but could it help further your bodys muscle mass potential.

Most bodybuilders have excellent flexibilty but is that just due to the mere size of them and the need to be flexible?

Yes, being flexible will help with muscle mass.
When you practice these stretches, and keep the muscle flexible, you not only keep the muscle fascia looser, you also help break down and prevent scar tissue buildup in the muscles.
This increased flexibility, absence of scar tissue, and looser muscle fascia will lead to better muscle pumps, increased blood flow to the muscles, a much lower possibility of injury, less resistance being met by an expanding/growing muscle, better muscle separation, and increased oxidation of the muscles.
